  1. Given the Watt's blood that flows through your veins, Barry, I wouldn't have been surprised if you said you were the kid in the photo! I'm with Speed, a similar pic would be awesome.
  2. Thanks to Mike and Brent (Livinlo) for the latest two additions to the registry, an EH1D and the first EF1S for the registry. If you haven't already, check out the great EF pics on Livinlo's gallery. Cheers Andy
  3. Sounds like an EHX that was on Ebay early this year. I drooled over it as she looked pretty straight but scruffy but...wrong side of the world and all that... Congrats on another E, Garth, looking forward to hearing more about it. Speed, thanks for keeping interest in the registry ticking over. I haven't had any new entries for a while. I'm thinking of reviewing my Show Times from ATHS and writing to the owners listed. Also had one of my Australian readers contact me asking to subscribe and he said he had a Type 75 and a military E...along with about 20 other trucks! This year hasn't been great for tracking down Es as I haven't had the time but with the e-magazine picking up, I'm hoping to get the feelers out there some more.
  4. Nice work, Paul. Looking forward to more pics! I don't hunt Glenn, but I wouldn't mind a hunting wagon like yours!
  5. Hi mate, I think there'd be a few peopl here who'd like to see pics of her. Have you passed her ID to Tom Gannaway (Fuzzy Buzzard)?
  6. Dealers are still separate down here. Lots of Titans etc getting about but there'll always be lots of Volvos down here as well. Still great to see Rs every day getting around getting dirty.
  7. Welcome Pascal. Do you come across many old Macks in France? I have a soft spot for Berliets but then any old truck is a good truck!
  8. Thad, sorry to hear about your friend. Hope the engine work goes well. A 673 is always a good thing to have! Back in November, a mate and me were in Melbourne at a friend's timber yard. Barry had noticed the rad fan vibrating on the B615 and since Gav was taking it a show the next day, we thought it prudent to replace it/bearings (I held the tools). We scavenged bits off two other V8s Gavin just happened to have lying around! As we were leaving, his latest acquisition, another 615, turned up! Amazing and always good to have engines handy!
  9. Yep, what Terry said. It'd be on the driver's side if it was an Australian B cos our steering wheel is on the right!
  10. LOL on that last point OD! I miss the sound of an air start. Used to drive trucks with that system and my Mack had that set up as well. Re your comment about GM 2-strokes. Not many heard on the road here in West Oz but went over to a show in Melbourne in November last year and they were everywhere in older working trucks and restored ones! There was even a F100 with one shoe horned in! It was heaven!
  11. G'day Gus, welcome! I disappeared for a while but it's good to see some familiar names here. All good people so you'll have fun here. Good luck with the B.
  12. MMM, a diff housing number or engine number might be of use if you ring the Mack Museum with those. They should be able to ID it or give you a ballpark from them.
  13. Got any pics of your progress? Would love to see how things are coming together.
  14. My trip home with Jess was uneventful other than the last 1.5 hours being done in the dark with one headlight shining up into the trees. Reached a mate's place to stay the night and was turning around on his paddock when she stalled. Started her up again, put her in gear but she wouldn't move. Shut her down for the night with thoughts of broken bits to look forward to in the morning. Discovered the next morning that she was just slipping on the wet grass! Got some great fog bound shots that morning too! Cheers Andy
  15. Thanks Diamond T man, that's great. I've fired a pm at ya. Sorry I disappeared for a while there. Been busy at work and at home (Bedford still neglected) so have kept my head down as forums can be, as Speed says, time vacuums! However, I'm back into it. Got a promotion here at work but am still waiting for the pay rise. LOL. The E registry hasn't moved since I last posted on here but it's still current, alive, active and yearning for more entries! "New" BMT looks bloody sensational! Cheers Andy
  16. From memory, that's what she had. Not sure if she's still around but it is possible. Cheers Andy
  17. Hi WJ In Australia it is most likely what you have is a fire truck variant of an E model Mack. I would lean towards a Type 75 but it could also be a Type 45. If you find the chassis number, it should start with a 45 or a 75. If it turns out to be one of these, you can also register it on the E-model registry that I set up recently! Looking forward to some pics. Very exciting to hear of another one in Australia. I'm in Perth, where are you? Cheers Andy
  18. There's nothing on the net yet, mate, and there won't be until I have a decent number of entries (50) to make it worthwhile. I reckon the guys who have contacted you have done so through here or have picked your address out of the several E-group emails I have sent to those who are on the registry. But that's what BMT and the registry are all about - bringing Mack people together. Cheers Andy
  19. Pretty standard down here mate...especially the RHD! LOL.
  20. James I'm planning on writing to the Mack Museum to get details of the how the Es were built, what chassis numbers were built when etc. I need to have that type of basic info available so that I can help those that ask me. I am far from being a E expert and there are heaps of people on here and at ATHS that will always know more than me! LOL. Now, from memory (what I read in the Iconografix books) the 1 in your EH1S refers to one drive axle. However, I forget what the S is for and it could even mean two drive axles so... Sorry I'm not of more help, some registry administrator I am! I'll get there. I reckon one of the guys on here will answer your question before I check the books at home tonight so you won't have to wait long. Cheers Andy
  21. Yep, I got it James, thanks mate. I think you posted it in the Oh My! post in the General section. I think I posted a thank you there but in case I didn't, thank you! When's the big recovery day? Cheers Andy
