What tranny do you have? These trucks are slow, but deliberate... I'm always interested in why there (isn't enough power)... but never got an answer why they need to be boosted up... Mack's are work horses... I've hauled 120K with a 97' 400 and an 18 speed, 4:17 rears and could pull the hills in Maine where I was driving, did it every week, heavy illegal loads of dirt in a tri-x trailer...Just curious, Jojo

hmmm.... its not behind the shock mount in the frame... I cant say exactly but I thought it was there. the paint is probably too thick and hiding it. wipe it clean and look, at an angle with a light. mabey you will see an impression in the paint.... then break out the 2" scotch pad and buff it clean... jojo

I'm no Gearing Guru..... but I have driven a bunch of trucks with that combination... for me.... they hauled just fine. mabey I'm not in a hurry to get down the road.... 🙃 jojo P.S. I like the 8LL... I would take it over a bunch of Mack tranny's...

it is now better than when it was new....probably gonna pop a wheelie on the strong side when you go over uneven terrain...🤣 jojo

just curious.... what tranny and rears and tire size do you have? The E-7 can pull really good.... jojo

as far as bypassing the compressor.. you can cap the 2 lines.. dont know if you have the newer (2001 'ish) stand pipe update with the #6 JIC fitting. but you can screw any kind of plastic plug into the ends, even if there is a tiny drip, I suggest plastic plugs because you can destroy them and not hurt the threads on the ends that you will hook back up.... remember no water pump or pressure in this test... you got this... JOJO

should be no bubbles, because air pockets will clear due to removed thermo's... I did this a year and a half ago on a 90 E-7.. It took a bit to push coolant, so I wasnt sure.. then I did my test and it made bubbles after a few minutes, not instantly. front head was cracked between the intake valves... jojo

help me with this thought i have.... i hear that Florida and Texas are experiencing high covid cases now. Of course, I ask, how do we know? But I also think its beause our great leader, allowed and shipped, border jumpers all over the country, without a 14 day travel quarentine, to many states to help increase the covid cases.... yes... I know I sound like a nutcase.... but its what popped in my head..... Ok..... Let me have it!!! 🙄 jojo

when you pull the panel that has the cup holders, you can barley see a screw at the top of the top right corner... What i did, was.... i made a flat tube out of card board and attached it to a shop vac. then take a small lenght of 2x4 and pry the duct open, gently and hold it with the block... then take the homemade vac tube and suck it!!! i use card board because it will shred before F'n up the core.... just be patient... you will also see a blue plastic filter thats like a brillo pad.... I have stitched 2 of them together with zip ties and stuffed it back in, then just pull it out to clean it.... not a true fix, but when you get good at cleaning this, the 20 minutes is worth it... another thing you can do after its clean is to switch the hvac to recirculate, or just shut it off till you are out of the dust,, not perfect, but somewhat preventative.... ok.... there will be more and better ideas coming... good luck, Jojo

Its only obvious to those of us that work, and employ workers.... Oh yeah, and have to decide if they are going get a new.... anything.... or pray the old one hangs on for a bit while I fix the house, or the car.... Oh wait, keep my kids in good repair as well... with the belt off the water pump, there wont be any flow, so the water will be "still" until combustion pressure enters the cooling system... no biggie, its a bit of work to do this test, but a heck of a lot less time than pulling heads that didnt need to be pulled, plus the cost of gaskets and bolts,, and whatever else decides to break..... to me... a slight vibration on this engine, can be many things... what other things were done to the truck recently? I could ask a bunch of questions, but the list would be long... check the obvious things like loose bolts on the fan, , alt., a/c comp. a sloppy fan clutch, Take the belts off and run it a bit and see if it still vibrates.... if it does, look at the clutch bolts through the inspection hole in the bell housing for an issue... Does it stumble when you rev it up? Like I said... lot's of Q's...there is an S-Load of smart people here.... we'll get it..jojo
