  1. am I missing something here!! when the statement says "30/30 on the front; im guessing "on the front refers to front drive axle. 24 go on front STEER AXLE ==OK. so this unit is getting 26/26 rear DRIVE and 30/30 front drive ??
  2. mount the valve/ and the adjustable linkage; measure distance from the white plastic area by the nut to the treaded adjustable linkage. make a new arm with a piece of 1/16th thick x 1/2 in wide flat stock (rough measurement ideas) drill a hole on each end ;;install
  3. the whole situation sucks. there is no such thing as a good time to happen ; but after all the perfection accomplished in the paint and assembly; a single scratch !
  4. Red one lookin good. many years ago I went to Pocono race track to watch the pro big rigs run circle track= not drags. didn't think it was going to be too exciting;; wrong . reality was the round and round with the big rigs turned to be alot of fun.
  5. any notification as to whether the engine has been started ok?
  6. think by accident I started a new topic . NOT again . LOL point was the R700 has a great promise seeing original look and not a paint cover up
  7. It's not nonsense ;; it's call mental venting. i'm waiting for the temp to go up a little right now==38 degrees. going for brake parts then heading to a 53 ft trailer brake job =OUTSIDE. and the EGR valve project of two days ago also taking place inside today, i'll do the outside brakes ;let the youngster be inside warmer doing the EGR and be his assistant if needed. this wasn't my idea of retirement. 38 degrees and still out side ;;;LOL and it's as always a freebe job .
  8. A "diamond in the ruff" , never cared for a unit all pretty and painted. paint hides a lot. NOT talking about a restoration; before the resto . comical when looking at a bulldozer and such for sale when the over spray is on the ground ,tracks all shiny. this R700 is in natural state ; hope the emergency stop has been hooked up and working.
  9. gliders back in the day were basically two rails ; steer axle and cab. all components =engine/transmission /rears were installed by some one else such as a dealer or buyer of the glider. factory didn't have much knowledge .
  10. Your ONLY 34 ;;come on , based on the knowledge you post ; I'm thinking way older.
  11. I see a computer screen in picture #2 ; kills the competition;; just sayin
  12. THANKS for the info, I would possibly enjoy watching. NOW if this took place 30-40yrs ago when things were built without a computer involved..well then !!LOL in my Maintenace office at baskin robbins, I had a number of diplomas; etc on the walls; NOT as a bragging but as request to show qualifications. some I worked for others were "ok you got one". all they meant to me was crap. when an in frame was done and the key went to start the sound I heard was worth more then all the paper on the wall. 13speed RR were sent out (lazy foreman); why can't we build; i questioned? the first rebuilt RR is still a memory. an MB fire truck from early '70's being the first EVER to have a jacobs engine brake which factory engineers said can't be done ''; no computers ;; OK competition were are ya LOL
  13. at 71 , first thing I do before any project is question myself== now how is this going to hurt me?? the body (mine anyhow) gets to the point it just can't take any more. that's not counting the grownin old crap''knees ,hips, back and what ever else still has a little feelings left. grinder guard always came off more for a clearance issue. many of us see the ole timers spending their time in the parks feeding the ducks; I spend my time looking at all /most of the 50 plus yrs of "battle scars" of equipment maintenance. I wear ear cover even when cutting the grass now; don't know why only one works
  14. Please explain to "the ole guy" (me) ;; what is Mack Masters???
  15. without a doubt a glider kit. not a Mack suspension and no excess holes in frame . gliders back then anything was possible.
