  1. in todays sad world , can't ever let your guard down. this yard things are locked and covered. doesn't have to be a delivery driver or stranger who come in the yard. could be the guy in a coffee shop, etc sitting near listening to a conversation from someone couple seats over talking about your stuff that has the negative ideas. darn sad there are scum that read the obits in the paper seeing when the funerals are knowing no one home and time to rob the house.
  2. I found a toro zero-turn mower that way. saw it in neighbors back yard. walked over and asked when he was outside using another zero turn. "tires are always flat when i need it" I was told. short version ;I paid $800.00 for a 60 in zero-turn with rear bagger system ($3000.oo option) .put another $300.oo into it :: $25.oo for can of green slime, not $250.oo for new tires. tire haven't lost air yet. $1100.oo for a machine worth $8-9 K. some times it pays to stop and ask.
  3. defiantly a fun trip back and worth the time . lot of good pictures
  4. now why don't they use those pictures when I go for vision test instead of chase the blue dot and press the button!!!
  5. great video ; couldn't truly enjoy it yet. had volume down;; TV / wife in same room. LOL. bad habits still here guess; Hand moving as the shifting taken place. took a short while to realize video wasn't running backwards; driving done opposite side then USA.
  6. they were trying to give the driver some encouragement making him/her think they were driving a real truck.. LOL
  7. for me it was a sad day when I turned in my C D L license since I had it from the first year they came out ('69?). medical card almost impossible to obtain. the roads in CT are so bad to be on, i don't go driving unless necessary. doing 65 in a 50 and everyone is passing . couldn't justify the hassle to keep the CDL. the fun days are gone. may will be 72 ;darn all this time I thought I was 70! the mind is still there, just don't know where.
  8. a little more info ? what are reasons for adjustments needed. what unit /type vehicle is this in?
  9. I'm proud :: I had NOTHING to do with that one; for a change!! LOL
  10. being a "new " truck '06 i guessing the 3 piece clutch brake assemblies don't exist any more; would be a 1 piece with the tabs that always break/ ware out . then the clutch brake does nothing but rattle around on input shaft and make noise. for it to fall off it may have had the two piece installed at one time and the two roll pins fell out.
  11. started looking up freight haulers from new england days gone by. there are a couple of roadway U model pictures and also a number of pics showing the mack N cab . the freight hauler with black/ orange U models was AAA freight. also found ;smith transfer/ new penn/ holmes/ and nelson . short list of many that were there in the good days.
  12. I take a couple of days "off" only to come back to BMT and see everyone trying to steel my thunder and reputation...LOL how did former bmt members topic get to chainsaws AND fish bait topic. now i'm good at off topic ;; NOT as good as what i'm reading.. LMAO🤣🤣
  13. U models "back in the day" were common in new england for freight haulers. navajo /st,johnsbury had them. don't recall seeing wilson freight with them. there was a freighter with black cab/orange logo U's can't remember name. company in torrington ct area ran twin-screw Yellow U's. hauled mostly lumber products. and many more. think that was the purpose behind the U's ; shorter cab length
  14. That's because when the 673's and others were built, they were made to be a work engines ; unlike todays mechanical nightmares that have to be removed and repaired regularly .
  15. at my age it's the important things that count ::: can she use a welder or know how to shift a mack quad transmission🙃 LOL ON TOPIC
  16. but I like to : look at it, feel it; NOT always the smell part 😝, oh wife; jojo says need a computer !! LOL
  17. I know. i've been thinking of the cyl pressure topic, I may be far off on the jake idea. before the computer crap a shorted jake screwed up 3 cyl not one
  18. wasn't aware of Your military time ;;THANK YOU for Your service, Sir
  19. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE:: OFF TOPIC AND I DIDN'T DO IT 😁 , circle back::: the truck wipers of the '50's were better also. LOL
  20. if your going to go back ;; start at the real goood times::'50's . Doo wop music/'55 -57 chevy/ the real Macks ( no usb plugs). personal attitude way better then today another plus those born in the '70-80's would get a glimpse of the best times they missed.
  21. original post states a '95 tri-axle dump with 270 k miles. dumping air while body dumping also has some safety advantages ; the unit is sitting on a more stable "foundation". less tendency for body to rock back and forth .
  22. NO clarification needed Sir; it's automatic to think a 2000 has computer some where ; wasn't sure if modern technology screwed up the fan clutch also. at 8 + months i wouldn't think conditions would be that bad to clog a fan ;; not saying can't be. also statement says clutch seemed wrong from the get go. don't think it's a warranty now
  23. Yep ; one of them new fangeled veehikles . the viscous hub was more problematic with old units not working from the bi metal plate being loaded with dirt or missing completely and fan NOT engaging. have seen older ones staying engaged from center pin oxidized in position. a new one (8-9) months old =NO
  24. rare these days;; common in the good days. understand heat from AC/ radiator ; still go with faulty clutch.
  25. his statement was fan seems engaged while sitting in line (asphalt plant maybe ) . engine can't be running hot enough for fan then . with AC = there's NO computer involvement here correct??.
