  1. Nazis owned what they did... Never covered their faces.
  2. Ohh... So that's why PMTG has 1998 models.
  3. Precision Motor Transport has a whole fleet of Argosy auto carriers, and some have been sold to second owners. These trucks are all at least 20 years old.
  4. Remember seeing those Titans in Allentown a few years ago, being built just for that job/customer. Impressive. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  5. It's a good unit to practice on. I just want a nice clean work truck, not going for show perfect. And I can't be mad at anyone else if it's wrong lol. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  6. I'm going to attempt to paint my MH myself this year. Never painted a vehicle before. The only local guy I can afford and trust might keep it for 6 months. I would like to be working by summer. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  7. Thank goodness you chose trucking. Now we can all learn from your experience how it's supposed to be done. It's obvious you're the only one who has been doing it correctly. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  8. I have the ARD38 on my MH. I will call you for any repairs! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  9. No money in social work... You must be a capitalist. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  10. No point trying to explain any further. If you want to be a socialist robot all your life, enjoy. That's what's great about America. If I want to live in my old truck, I am free to do so. And by the way, don't categorize me or assume the reasons for my choices in life. I have always been drug-free also. And I'm not addicted to Kool-Aid, either. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  11. Just start it up then you don't have to go climbing for the trash can! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  12. Much like you're a hobby troll. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  13. I'm going to disclose another secret... I went tech school for heavy truck repair many years ago and spent 10 years working as a mechanic. Not bragging, but my skills go beyond that of your average steering wheel holder. I own trucks and drive because I want to, not because I'm stuck doing it. I can make more money on the road, and I actually enjoy what I do. It's hard for me to think about retirement, because l am doing what I want in life right now. I will probably keep going until my body gives up on me. There are lots more like me out there driving truck, and that is why there is such resistance to E-logs. Many of us see our way of life disappearing, brought about by the rest of you that see trucking as just a job. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  14. In about 20 years. I'm only 47. Hope to have a long and productive career. I don't see E-logs helping me with that. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  15. Nope. That's a factory freightliner... They had rather narrow windows. Old CF truck. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  16. UPS, FedEx, and most of the LTL freight companies have terminal to terminal runs meticulously calculated to be within logbook compliance. Nothing wrong with that, if it works for you. Most of the rest of the trucking industry is unpredictable from day to day, and doesn't always fit into a neat little 14 hour package. My day today ended up totally different than what I expected starting out this morning, I was 30 minutes over 14 just to get to my hotel. WHY was I 30 minutes over, you ask? Because I knew the restaurant would be closed when I got here, so (gasp) heaven forbid, I stopped to get supper! Lock me up now. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  17. Seems you can't buy a gas grill with lava rocks anymore. It certainly affects the quality of grilling, as the rocks tend to even out the Heat. I've given up and gone back to charcoal. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  18. My employer can fill you in on the cost effectiveness of new equipment. He has flipped his entire fleet of 80 trucks over the past 5 years, and now laments that strategy. The new trucks are a net loss on repairs and maintenance compared to the trucks that were replaced. The fuel mileage is down, plus the added expense of DEF. Trouble with auto carriers is the cargo racks, which basically rot from the inside out and need major repairs or replacement around the 10 year mark running in the snow belt. My boss is seriously considering glider kits, to escape the emissions technology nightmare. Rowdy-2, Teamster-0... Again typical liberal socialist thought process, everyone fits into a category or stereotype. Why does Rowdy have to buy a new truck, even if he has the money?!? It's called individual liberty and freedom to choose. Obviously not important values in Teamster's world. I have experienced new trucks and old, and personally would not buy anything newer than 2001.
  19. I'm proud to be a caveman. Because of computers, many of our recent generations have lost the ability to think and survive. I don't mind technology as a tool, but many have come to rely on electronics, and couldn't solve a problem without some sort of device.
  20. Again, Rowdy 1, Teamster 0. Computer controlled engine is the government and large corporations telling the individual what is good for him. We have had 15 years of computer controlled crap that does nothing for my bottom line. I am putting my 1985 MH back on the road because I, as an individual, choose to. I have decided in my business plan that I cannot afford a new computer controlled truck. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  21. I yes Venezuela is planning to diversify by taking over GM. Maybe they became too dependent on oil revenues because of a lack of free market opportunities under socialism.
  22. The government is not rich, either. They just have their hands in our deep pockets.
  23. Again, thinking like a politician, not based in reality. I have been paying taxes for nearly 35 years, and have not yet ever, even once, been "relieved of my responsibility". The bureaucrats will always find something else on which to spend my money. And the driver shortage is more or less a pay shortage, new drivers find out fast they are not being compensated adequately for the demands of the job. "It's too hard!" It's Boring!" "I don't wanna be away from home!" I stay in the truck because I can't make $100,000 hanging around home punching a clock. But what are the alternatives? Where are these former steering wheel holders going to work? Back to Walmart DC unloading TRUCKS. because last I checked, not too many stores or DC's have rail sidings.
  24. So then suppose truckers pay their "fair share" of road use costs. Then the price of goods increases to cover those increased transportation costs. Then workers (consumers) demand higher wages as a result of increased cost of living expenses. This in turn raises the cost of road building. So then the politicians are still trying to get in my pocket. The cycle never ends. Try making do with what you have, much like we all try to do in our personal lives. There's lots of things I'd like to do or buy, but I don't because I can't afford it. It's always easy to spend when it's someone else's money. Politicians never seem to account for the loss in revenue when critical mass is reached and consumers can no longer afford the services provided, or choose not to participate. So those that remain are expected to pay more. And more. And more.
  25. We're talking 30 years old! Not many good ones left! Maybe have to build what you want. Guys that have nice ones aren't giving them up! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
