  1. When I do in-chassis synchro on the ISX I typically do range cylinder removed to clear case removal. I think we are talking about two different things, your talking about trans removal. I’ve attempted the Teflon range seals without the tool, you kill it. Good option to leave it if your away from home or special tooling.
  2. Fred, correct me if I’m wrong. He can’t leave the shift cylinder on since the cylinder has to come off to miss the cab X-Member (with ISX). ISX moved the trans back. So in the case of in-chassis you pull shift cylinder, and out of chassis on bench you can leave it in.
  3. Cheers RED! That worked out well. I couldn’t FIND the free publication till I read it on your picture’s front page, I had been looking through E-media and not finding it. You may have just made Dave’s day.
  4. Never mind Dave, his family was murdered by a T318L.
  5. Don’t have to buy it, Mack e-media has a free download....go to “Mack E-media” and search “10-710” J-41028 is the plate tool
  6. Too bad your so far away. I got quarantine madness, the plate tool and a willingness to work cheap.
  7. Worth it. Flat rate mechanic does it in 8-12 hours without removing the trans. Pumps and lines and PTO add time. Timing isn’t an issue. Count the teeth and paint marks. Equal distances. Shafts stay in and engaged. You slide the synchro out, repair, and right back into countershafts. Mack publishes a book for the T2 transmissions, but the tools are the same and procedure is basically the same. You need a special tapered sleeve to install shift cover Teflon seals, I do it at the dealership I worked for, they don’t mind. You need a special plate to retain the countershafts while you work.
  8. Un-frigging believable...…one hour ago Tony Evers signed a stay at home order effective till May 26th. We've only had 170 deaths Statewide and its in almost every county at a "community spread" level.
  9. Here if it snows the Harley gets put away for 2-3 weeks minimum, even if it’s 70 the next day. You could lay a cucumber 🥒 out next to the highway at bedtime and have a salt brine pickle for breakfast..... unless we get a couple hard rains immediately afterward.
  10. Good point! In that case only 3 had Corona and the rest have disappeared.
  11. Shippings crazy. I recently ordered an insulated pair of bib overalls and a light jacket liner from Aramark. They charged me $84 shipping and handling. Nuts! They were suppose to (in my understanding) drop it off via the guy who does our uniform drop every week. I got hosed!!! It’s a side hustle these joints, that’s why they won’t delegate it to the drop -off workers.
  12. Pull up a chair 99', your not alone...…. Keep an eye on your 8 codes, like the 8-5. Usually those end up requiring an EUP replacement.
  13. I think the flip side of the coin will be an excellent fruit season. If it stayed warm like it had been we’d have seen a freeze off of the buds. This knocked the trees back and even put an inch or two of frost back in the ground.
  14. I’d guess there would be an extraordinary tax base in a wealthy city that size. State of WI has 5.8 million citizens total and NYC alone has 8.4 million. Can see how you’d end up getting nose-ringed in the NY Upstate. We have the same effect with the libs in Madison and the drunks in Milwaukee calling all the shots..... including a hefty new wheel tax to help finance their hobby projects.
  15. Not to mention opening up an Ozone hole so we can get some virus destroying UV light back in.
  16. I feel your pain, we got 11” Sunday, 4” Monday and it was 1 deg this morning.
  17. If you had two friends with kidney failure would you donate both kidneys? Nope, you let one die. Medical science has never stopped a single death, only postponed it, so let the field hospitals step up to the plate and give a best effort.
  18. Or I could look them up on emedia too..... 45 ftlbs on injector nozzle hold down screw. 45 ftlbs on Jake brake housing hold down screws.
  19. I could look it up or you tomorrow or you could download the whole service manual for free from Mack E-media.
  20. Another 293 reason to cook your pork well...... Large meat plant closes after 293 employees test positive for coronavirus SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota -- Virginia-based Smithfield Foods announced Sunday that it is closing its pork processing plant in Sioux Falls until further notice after hundreds of employees tested positive for the coronavirus - a step the head of the company warned could hurt the nation's meat supply. The announcement came a day after South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken wrote to Smithfield and urged the company to suspend operations for 14 days so that its workers could self-isolate and the plant could be disinfected. The plant, which employs about 3,700 people in the state's largest city, has become a hot spot for infections. Health officials said Sunday that 293 of the 730 people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in South Dakota work at the plant. "As a critical infrastructure employer for the nation's food supply chain and a major employer in Sioux Falls, it is crucial that Smithfield have a healthy workforce to ensure the continuity of operations to feed the nation. At the same time, employees need a healthy work environment," Noem and TenHaken wrote to the plant's operators. Smithfield announced a three-day closure last week so it could sanitize the plant and install physical barriers to enhance social distancing. But on Sunday, it announced the plant's indefinite closure. "The closure of this facility, combined with a growing list of other protein plants that have shuttered across our industry, is pushing our country perilously close to the edge in terms of our meat supply," Smithfield president and CEO Kenneth Sullivan said in a statement. "It is impossible to keep our grocery stores stocked if our plants are not running. These facility closures will also have severe, perhaps disastrous, repercussions for many in the supply chain, first and foremost our nation's livestock farmers." The Sioux Falls facility is one of the largest pork processing plants in the U.S., Smithfield said. It supplies nearly 130 million servings of food per week, or about 18 million servings per day.
  21. I don't mean to beat a dead horse...……. pulled it from the gov library.... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32147538 Int J Infect Dis. 2020 Mar 5;93:297-299. doi: 10.1016/j.ijid.2020.03.003. Electronic address: pliang@mail.sysu.edu.cn. Abstract The ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 that began in Wuhan, China, has constituted a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, with cases confirmed in multiple countries. Currently, patients are the primary source of infection. We report a confirmed case of COVID-19 whose oropharyngeal swab test of SARS-CoV-2 RNA turned positive in convalescence. This case highlights the importance of active surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 RNA for infectivity assessment. I want to record a prediction. When they nail this down the time frame for the second infection/fever/positive comes around 6 days after the individuals symptoms end.
  22. Talking to Lube-Tech Group that services our national Mobil Lubricants account. They dropped 10% of their employees and are in tap to let go of another 10% in the near future. Said if they drop one more 10 increment to make it 30% unemployed they’re going to try a furlough for them instead of release. The remaining employees get 32 hours per week max. Appears being an essential business doesn’t mean your not getting hit hard. They say the dealerships bulk was a big hit on them.
  23. Covid mania is going to keep going on for some time I suspect. Even after the economy gets up and going. Example- I had an April appointment at Mayo and they deemed me elective now and dropped me indefinitely because of Covid. That’s fine except I can’t go anywhere else, I was referred there for a specialized procedure only one other place does. Aw shucks!!! Hope your stoic pal, 😲?
  24. OR......be forced into automatic quarantine and here comes 14 days alone which is going to cause your RPS to flare up again. I have paperwork to drive to work, that’s it. Imagine you guys will be treated like filthy, diseased, gypsies if you travel over state lines?
