  1. thursday morning i had to deliver two skid steers to a bank. the street was too tight to unload on, but there was a parking lot behind the bank. bossman came walking around the bank just as i was swinging into the driveway from center lane and heading up the ramp to the parking lot. he tried to stop me, but i just kept going and swung around facing out. (i had to do two small backups to clear a car). he came walking over and asked me "how did you do that, there was not enough room to turn around" i looked at him, smiled, and said apparently there was.
  2. didn't ya read the manual? ya ain't supposed to let the old timer secrets out!!!
  3. he probably does that 2-3 times a day, and can do it in his sleep!
  4. actually it was "God Bless America Again" performed in 2019
  5. Bob, did you also notice the Corrosive placard on the front bumper? this picture was taken back before the hazmat id placards were introduced. this picture is from late 70's early 80's, and this truck is 73 or older, as it is a "round dash"
  6. same here. i never took a driving test for anything. i started driving trucks on the farm at 13 years old. at 14 i was delivering grain to the co-op 25 miles away. for my car license at 17,i took a 49 international L-190 single axle tractor for my road test. the road test inspector did not know how to drive "a truck with three shifters" and failed me. i went inside the office and bitched. the manager asked why i could not take the road test and the guy said i cant drive it if something happens. he looked out the window and stamped my permit passed. same for combination license, articulated license, and class "A". grandfathered in for all three.
  7. i was not even aware you could have instate only license. makes no sense. you can have a medical emergency and run over a car of nuns just as easily instate as out of state.
  8. no idea. all i know is if you can not produce a valid medical card, the state of new jersey revokes your CDL
  9. not in new jersey. no medical card, no CDL.
  10. i have had them both ways. PTO only worked with main in 5th, and PTO with main in neutral.
  11. i remember the Rollo garage on 35 in Keyport, and also the Nappi terminal on 34!
  12. probably will, but you will probably have to make a wiring harness to adapt the computer and engine to work with the mack instrument cluster if it is a newer truck. a friend has a 94 (i think) CL700 with a 15 litre 600 cummins and 18 speed eaton fuller trans. .
  13. easiest way to tell if repowered or not is to get the first 4 or 5 of the VIN
  14. you should be safe. i "know a guy" that thinks very much the same as you do.........😁
  15. watch it JoJo, keep talking like that and the "black suits" will be knocking on your door.
  16. i wonder how much longer before ottawa runs out of food, water, gas, and other essentials the trucks ARE NOT bringing in?
  17. you have too much fun.. or you need your head examined. i havn't decided which one yet...
  18. why not both? dump when the low boy is not needed.
  19. First thing I heard was "the mouse" That would drive me nuttyer than squirrel turds! My new truck had 125 miles on it and I had both seats out looking for the squeak!
  20. both of those trucks have V8 engines too. there is also a newer V8 mack engine listed, currently at $65 https://www.proxibid.com/Large-V-8-Mack-motor/lotInformation/65998034
  21. i have not used it in probably 20 years or more now. but each box has that one drawer with the mat welded to the drawer by the leaking bottle!! i think it is the big box that still has the bottle, and a battery terminal cleaner in the solidified mass. .
  22. all three of my tool boxes have one drawer that the jar of Permatex Indian Head sealant leaked in, leaving a big brown tar like mess we have the dirt daubers (we call them mud daubers or mud wasps) here in New Jersey too. they really like building in auto trans and axle vents. plugging them solid. then once the axle or trans warms up it spits oil/gear lube everywhere.
  23. Matlack was big back in the 80's. same with Chemical Leman. Leman had a very large terminal out on the highway about 1/4 mile from the farm i grew up on.
