  1. I'm in Connecticut several times a week. It's over in the Canaan area though.
  2. Ahhh . I've noticed fire trucks often have components a little different than other trucks. Didn't know about this one either until you explained. TY
  3. We could still go eat steak. Pretty hard to get sued for that
  4. Mech..... if we could only go help this guy out, then go to Texas Roadhouse
  5. At the risk of sounding dumb, what is the rectifier for ?
  6. The more I read all this, the more it seems like brake chambers on thee trailer ( and a couple other things that may need attention ) I'd bet if those chambers were removed and shaken you'd hear spring rattle'n around in at least two....which leads to all sorts of fun stuff.
  7. That would most likely be a leak in the service side. (still needs to be addressed) Wouldn't have much effect on the red knob symptom. You'd need to chock the wheels. Then make sure the wheels are cholked, then push the red one in and look (or listen) for air leaks in the trailer.
  8. Look on the bright side Bob,you would have never had so much fun driving trucks .
  9. Might be moving enough air into the trailer the parking brake can't decide whether to pop or not. Might not be actually bleeding back.
  10. May need to sweet talk someone into it (lol) Little hard going from descriptions in text, but from what I'm reading if it's not the valve assembly (parking brake s) it's likely a bad maxi on the trailer. I only mentioned the foot valve cause it looked fairy new. The yellow in the first picture looks to be an exhaust line, and I don't see lots of goo drooling out of it. Often when valve after valve fails the air dryer hasn't been serviced in a while. A maxi ??? they can fail for no particular reason and bleed back.. Might even be more than one.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, she was some kinda award winning cook (or baker) I'd think she may have been proud to be associated with yummy stuff, as that was her forte.
  12. Can't you make friends with someone to try a different tractor to the trailer or your's to a different trailer ? Narrow it down some.
  13. The control valves might be the same. Sometimes when you go to change them you discover broken springs holding them. Sometimes the broken springs sneak out under the cover too. But ??? they're a problem if those valves are bad.
  14. 30 year old engine brake, likely a tune-up won't hurt. They are expensive, and that's assuming they're available still. Everything is a fortune anymore.
  15. That big gap between the Jake and the valve adjustment doesn't mean anything. When the Jake is activated the master piston comes way out of the bore and closes that gap , so sitting there without the engine running.....it looks kinda like it might be a problem. The Jake may need a tune-up kit. Lots of times when they get older the little control valves in the Jake are worn. A 350 ? I wouldn't be afraid to open the Jake's lash to 90 thousandths ( or a little more even ). This is all of course after determining you don't have a bad solenoid or wire off or oil bleeding off somewhere else.
  16. This didn't happen to start after that foot valve was changed, did It ?
  17. That floor looks like it was finished with a (tool ?) I've heard referred to as a "jitter bug" To me ? the jitter bug looked a lot like one of those steps that went over a tire for when working on a truck. The mason would go over the screeded concrete (sorta like an old dude with a walker) kinda lightly stamping it. It left a finish on the concrete that looked like that. I'm sure there's a name for it, but it's kinda like a version of broom finish from what I could tell.
  18. Really unlikely that has 4707s or anything like that on it they're probably the big aluminum shoes you change the brake block on. Doesn't sound like they're worn out by those numbers.
  19. I wonder if anyone considered it racist cause it has "cracker" in the name ? Funny how it never works that way.
  20. That's a single axle with a tag. Six spoke on the drive and 5 on the tag. That was on here advertised a while ago. Looks kinda nice in the pictures , enough to make a guy curious
  21. Simple answer. He should have never been allowed to have a CDL. Period.
  22. Did you have the center bolts out ? If you did and had the springs apart and are using them, probably wouldn't hurt to take a flap disc and polish off the edges so the springs slide on one another. If they dig in, they'll break. Then you'll be taking it all apart again.
  23. You laugh, some a$$ hole will be saying something stupid like that. Pathetic what these media low lifes try spinning things like.
  24. He's just a working dad
  25. Remember a few months ago everyone was laughing at the guy with the ten speed tutorial. 😏
