  1. Cut'n that moisture sensor off doesn't hurt a thing. By the time the plug part on the engine harness is green, the rest of the harness is shot anyway. I worked on a a Volvo once ( I can't believe I fessed up to that in print ) It had Baldwin filters on it. Someone had that plug stuffed in the front bumper as the Baldwin replacement was just your typical spin on with only a little drain cock on it and no provisions for the bowl. I did try those filters on an MP7. went right on and had a fuel pressure fault until they came off the next day. Nothing about the water in fuel though.
  2. What a nice CH.
  3. 😂 I even cut that plug off the bowl on the one and threw them away. They were so much fun to try and get back on alongside the road when it was 2 degrees.
  4. Done it. They weren't very service friendly compared to an E7 or E Tech.
  5. Boy, they really were. Oil change. fuel filters . All on your feet. I don't ever remember changing a fuel filter on my MPs without wearing it.
  6. 32 MM is about inch and a quarter as far as the socket size.
  7. Bill Barr 🤣 couple years late for the suck'n up routine . Gotta get a chuckle outta him try'n though.
  8. I wouldn't be too worried......at least until you wake up one morning and think to yourself " nancy wasn't really that bad "
  9. Why would you not want another CH or some form of one ? They don't exactly command top dollar for a good used one, and they're out there. Especiallly after already having one. You may be surprised how they stack up against other trucks. Dollar for dollar, they's hard to beat (literally)
  10. Problem now is they change so much so fast. Time was you could almost get Cummins parts at the grocery store. Now ? used engines are a fortune and not always readily swapped into just any chassis, or compatible with different versions of software. Stuff's too complicated anymore, and finding guys to do a repair is a challenge.
  11. Thanks
  12. I would recommend if you do locate a bumper like the one on the truck now, you sit down before you hear the price. There's probably some form of aftermarket around somewhere for it. They're usually between $500.00 to $1000.00. Usually closer to the $500.00
  13. 😶 you may have just put an end to my occasional fast food cravings
  14. You'd never find aguy to use something like that in this day and age. Now, they just tell you you need an engine. Or better yet a new piece of equipment.
  15. IDK about the Ebay thing. I just noticed it on the liturature in the picture.
  16. Looks like you can get one of those things on ebay too Bob. ez peezy
  17. 🤔 funny thing. I'm here reading this as I eat the Quarter Pounder they/them handed me .
  18. Bob, the engine hoist (shop crane) I see in the picture is your friend. Get a little creative with it. Light stuff like doors.... don't be afraid to make a couple feet of "jib" on the end of it. I've also found some old V belts are handy instead of chain for stuff that doesn't weigh much . They're much easier to buffer the component you're lifting. An old matched set off a CH handles a drum and spider when taking wheel ends apart.
  19. I see. I'm right close to there and never managed to see them, also funny the guy that delivers stuff at my shop never mentioned them . Couple of nice trucks there. TY
  20. I'm kinda curious the affiliation between Dempsey and those trucks.
  21. (lol) I saw this truck first in a different post. I was think'n the old girl still looks pretty good myself.
  22. Never. I haven't even seen a running 555 since back in the early '80s.
  23. IDK what it is. I'm impressed by the size of it though. The housing too. That whole truck has lots of goodies on it. Almost 70 years later, guys still realize that....pretty cool it's around and running.
  24. That is the White double reduction BMF model 😉 Seriously, that one picture has a marking almost looks like a Spicer diamond. Maybe it was some exclusive axle for Diamond T (White) I think they had other components with that arrangement with suppliers in the past. That must have been quite the truck back when it was made.
  25. You don't mean Oldsmobiles by any chance .
