  1. I guess we will find out in a week or so when the truck gets here and disassembly begins.
  2. We have been finding problems with our visions at work the saddles have been working loose on the drive axles and they have been taking them apart to see where the oil is seeping out from and found small cracks on the top of the axle tubes.
  3. Yes Ron Im sure it has brakes hauling tankers like it did they are pretty particular when hauling chemicals I wont be needing the front axle I will switch the daytons off my truck onto the rear axles and sell them off too..
  4. It looks like its got a real nice air ride seat in the drivers side must be new there isn't any wear on it yet but there will by the time I get it home. Im bringing a bit of insurance with me my friend a mack mechanic at work is driving me there and following me home just in case.
  5. I finally got this truck bought I have been waiting for the owners decision to sell it to me for a good price. Shes ugly its been a yard dog for years but has some good parts my RS needs has a set of aluminum frame rails too I will use the steering wheel, battery box covers, power steering and hopefully the buds hubs off the rear drives.Im going to check it out good and see if I can drive it home after its insured owner says it has no real problems except its ugly and doesn't fit the company image its going to be a hard six hour trip home bob tailing they said its a 78 but Mike and myself figure its probably a 73 or closer to that.
  6. I wish I could but working a seasonal job unemployment wont buy much of a truck.
  7. I would sure like to have that V8 for my RS.
  8. Sorry to hear that better start hiding the toys.
  9. Looks to be a decent truck a little high on mileage. http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=7&acctid=5487
  10. It was probably worth it if it only needed a minimum of work to make it a nice truck.
  11. Its almost as impressive as a couple locomotives pushing a wedge through the huge drifts out on the plains.
  12. Only problem is someone put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the truck.
  13. Thought I would post these up for anyone wanting the older style aluminum rims for their truck. http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=11&acctid=6175
  14. Heres how the Canadian national does their snow removal must be hard to see the whistle boards in the snow spray but he did hit the horn for the crossing the best is the first minute after that its just the trailing train cars..
  15. Or uses those lally columns like cows use trees for scratching posts.
  16. Timing could be off too I had a military blazer with a 6.5 diesel in it that clattered so loud when you had the hood open you couldn't stand close to it or your ears would hurt turned out the timing was a bit off got the timing right and the extra noise went away.
  17. This isn't mine but for the price it looks like a great source of sheetmetal for a restoration project. http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/hvo/4826885803.html
  18. Watch that lame show ice road truckers Darrell Ward is the prime example of a super trucker doesn't give a crap about his fellow truckers and is a danger to others while on the road.
  19. Sounds like the fuel filters are plugging up it will run on the fuel in the filters then die as it uses the fuel up after the truck shuts down the suction refills the filters and it will start again.
  20. I will check the front axle out for you when the truck gets here sure wish I had this truck before I had the axle beam shipped here from Oregon to put under my RS.
  21. Al Im not looking to make a killing on them it would be nice if someone could put them to use instead of them being scrapped.
  22. I have a deal pending on a parts truck it has aluminum frame rails is there a market for these instead of cutting them up for scrap? I bought it because I need some replacement parts which this truck has still on it I will have a front axle beam which has a set of budds hubs on it as well I will post up parts I will not need use myself when disassembly starts but I was most interested if I could sell the frame as a whole.
