  1. That looks like a pretty solid truck, then there's this 78 LTL that's really impressive https://www.auctiontime.com/listings/trucks/auctions/online/223584747/1978-ford-ltl9000
  2. Very low key with just a handful of people there at any time. Good time to talk to Roger and really explore the junkyard. As far as old machinery in operation really no more than during the Mack show. It's been a few years since I've seen the d9 with the cable scraper running unfortunately. It's a 4.5 hour drive down there for me and I'm happy to take the time to do so still.
  3. Just thought I'd share this listing of a superliner with a stretched hood. I've never seen anything like it and don't know why it was done but here it is. None of the other pictures show a good under hood view. https://www.truckpaper.com/listing/upcoming-auctions/223549007
  4. I'm curious about that too. It has galvanized fenders on it which would seem post 71. Wills trucking of Richfield Ohio looks to have been a trash hauler which would explain the Nj dep numbers on it.
  5. It's definitely an R model factory single axle tractor reading right off the vin plate. That's what I found so unusual about it. I asked Roger about it and he couldn't remember how he came to owning it. He thought it was a purchase with other trucks. All the tags suggest it was last registered out of Jersey in '92.
  6. So this has been nosed into the trees for over 10 years anyways at Gerhart's back lot/ junk yard. I've seen it many times before but never really gave it much of a good look. It sits there with no motor and the cab generally rotted away but it's really a neat little truck. I decided to knock the brush down off the front of it Saturday and the nose is incredibly solid. Other than the cab the whole thing looks worth salvaging.
  7. It's also difficult to see where the seal was riding in the wear ring pictured but it appears the wear ring wasn't installed far enough onto the spindle.
  8. 46305 cr seal would be my first choice for this application as long as the seal ring on the spindle is not compromised in a way as was described by others in this post. 46300 is easier to install but also easier to pull loose from the seal bore when wrestling the spoke hub back on, whatever method you're using. That stemco seal 2110 is part of set 372-7097 but the wear rings are very difficult to properly install without the proper drive tool. You shouldn't be able to remove or install the wear ring with your bare hands. I use a thin coating of ultra grey sealant on the outside edge of most seals when installing
  9. I'm almost certainly headed down there. Looks like decent weather
  10. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/801658211528674/ I don't even know where to begin, but it's different.
  11. Actually the construction bumper on your truck might be stock. I'd think thats even more rare on an RL.
  12. Here's a good parts truck in Binghamton, NY. I'd try to get that front bumper if I were you and he still has it. He's also a somewhat active member on here: rz761 Marketplace - Mack for parts | Facebook
  13. It looks a lot better. I dont envy you cleaning out that mess.
  14. Screenshots of my photos are all that will work for me. Hope you can see them alright.
  15. Just found this post and checked my Keith smykal dealer catalogs. It was in the 68-69 catalog but gone by 73. Price was $1.95 Photos keep failing to upload right now. I'll keep trying
  16. A tractor with a hitch plate is handy as long as it's done right. Also tag trailers are usually pretty balanced so you're not putting much weight on the tail of the truck. But then it also needs to be driven accordingly as there isn't much weight on the drives.
  17. Vlad, this still looks pretty complete other than the listing says no motor. I've been looking for a 2' length of 600 rails for my mh. It's hard to find because everyone wants to sell the rears as a cut off. That makes a complete set of rails impossible to find.
  18. This poor thing looks like it had a rough end to its life. Not much for details on it. Mack 9 speed and neway. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/6123411247747900/
  19. Ok, that's what I originally thought. Maybe that's just the trailer valve in the dash. I forget how they were set up. Very interesting truck, where in PA are you?
  20. The brake valves are in the dash contradictory to what I said before. Not sure maybe that was a Hayward thing. Love the bulldog passenger bench seat and the white steering wheel. And that's the biggest oil bath air cleaner I've ever seen.
  21. I had to find the auction listing for this and see more pictures. https://www.auctiontime.com/listings/trucks/auctions/online/222288491/1971-mack-rl700l I'm almost certain it's a Hayward mack and has an aluminum frame and doors. Also is see a 13 speed shifter plus another stick. Is there a brownie behind it?
  22. No affiliation, this thing is ugly right now but it looks immaculate. Been on marketplace a couple weeks anyway. I can look at it May 6 if someone is interested. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1349935329127151/ 350 9 speed 4.42 rears cab and chassis $21500
  23. No affiliation though I'm probably buying the hood. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/620173646630626/ E6-350, 12 speed, 58 rears, 20 front. If anyone is interested in anything I'd be glad to look at it for them if I go out to get the hood.
  24. In 73 they started coming out with a cab that was 3" longer behind the doors. Around here the old cabs all rotted away years ago. The short grab handles are a dead giveaway. That truck should have a steel dash and the parking brake valves mounted on the back wall between the seats. They're really neat and you seldom see them anymore.
