  1. I would replace the cam and all rollers and have the H-rings checked also.
  2. Yea lots of problems with that connector. I see problems with it and the wires all the time. Make sure to secure the connector and wires so they don't move at the connector. Bad design in my opinion.
  3. The dealer will need to program the road and cruise speed to what you want as long as it is not over 87 mph as that's they will let you program.
  4. Clean the connectors and EECU of oil and retry. The oil is from the oil level/temp sensor and possibly the oil pressure sensor. A known issue that requires sensor replacement and jumper harness install. If the oil is in the top EECU connector is is from the injector wiring and the engine harness will need to be replaced. Another known issue. I also recommend replacing the engine harness due to the above sensors if the oil is in the lower EECU connector as I am sure it is.Mack states to clean out the lower EECU connectorand install the new sensors and jumper harness listed above. I always recommend replacing the engine harness once oil has reached the EECU. I also recommend replacing the EECU as i have seen the oil come back out of it and cause issues even though Mack does not recommend it. Try cleaning them and see if it helps and let us know what happens.
  5. The sensor is located on the hot side boost tube from the turbo. The most common issue I see is the wiring and or connector issues. The wiring breaks due to the heat and vibration. The sensors do go bad too. But check the wiring. It breaks alot at the connector. I have seen many hard wired. It will not cause the truck to stop running. It may give a little performance issue.
  6. Could be a fuel issue also. If you have the stalk switch you can pull codes with it.
  7. Possibly a weak unit pump. Also check your fuel pressure. When was the last time a valve adjustment was done?
  8. It is in the air cleaner pipe to the turbo inlet. The hard plastic one. It does not cause any big issues and has a lot of failures.
  9. Also the problem could be a loose pin in the fuse panel. I see that alot. Sometimes you can use a small pick and spread them sometimes you have to change the whole panel as the pins do loose their tension. To change the whole panel is easy if you need to.
  10. No problem. Have fun doing it and let us know how it turns out.
  11. These dpf/scr issues can be a pain sometimes.
  12. Your right Mackpro68. I don't get to do the engine work like before now that I am the triage tech. It is a lot less dirty but I miss my engine work.
  13. What do you mean to run the truck on the computer? If you mean program the eup calibration codes it doesnt take that long but most shops charge 1 hour to hook the computer up.
  14. Yes book time is about 20 hours. When you have done as many as we have in our shop it gets real easy. Not all tech can do it that fast but there are some of us that can. Hell just a cam and rollers can be done in a day. Flat rate brings the hustle out of a good tech. Lots of gain time.
  15. 3 eup' and 3 lines on an Etech an hour sould be a good time estimate.
  16. That is considered a gravey job in a flat rate world!! I love those jobs.
  17. A good Mack shop can get the job done with new H-rings in about 1 1/2 days and save you some down time and headache. Also it would then have a warranty. Also i recommend replacing all lifters and EUP rollers and replacing the oil pump. You may want to have a couple of rod and main bearings checked to be on the safe side. And if a lot of metal is found in the oil pan you may want to replace the oil cooler. This is what I recommend at our shop.
  18. Your right Mack Man it is a CH. I didn't look at the pic too good.
  19. The CL is one of the the best trucks to work on! Plenty of room and also a very tough truck. I love working on them!
  20. It means the personal overspeed setting needs to be changed in the co-pilot. You can change it using the stalk switch. I believe it is under the setup in the co-pilot. You can set it to what you want.
  21. Sounds like a wiring issue. Check the connector to the oil pressure sensor. The oil pressure data valid but below normal is causing the shut down. Was the old sensor full of oil. If it was check the EECU connectors for oil. Also check them for coolant. I have seen many coolant level sensors push coolant into the EECU also an cause a lot of issues.
