  1. What year and engine is in the truck? MP engines also have injector cup issues. Have also seen some E-tech and ASET injector cup issues which is rare compared to the MP.
  2. Pin out test the harness from the eecu to the eup's and check the harness and eup's for shorts to ground and the harness for shorts to power and make sure the eup's are getting power. The eup's are controlled by the eecu supplying the ground to them. I have seen a lot of harness issues which can also take out the eecu.
  3. We usually price remans as we find to rebuild them with new gears there is a lot of unseen bearing and power divider damage. Also the cost is not much more for remans to having the old ones rebuilt correctly. Also there is the reman warranty which is very good.
  4. I called tech support and was told that the engine hours can't be programmed back on the older engines. Funny how the 2013 emissions engines can't have the engine hours programmed either. Only the 2007 emissions and the 2004 emissions Mp engines can. I figured that was the issue with the abs as that fuse has to be removed to flash and reprogram the modules. What did they tell you about the bill you got?
  5. Thanks I will let my service manager know. Wow small world!
  6. You can have a bad fuse panel. I have seen it about a dozen times. The contacts spread and do not make a good connection. If the fuse panel is bad at least it is easy to change.
  7. Hey Hatcity unfortunately our dealership is closed on Saturday. Let me know if the Mack website shows that we are open so I can let the service manager know. If you have any questions let me know. That would suck to have to cross the state for good service but we know how the other dealer is. No name mentioned.
  8. Let us know. Like I said I could be wrong on reprogramming the engine hours back. I will see if I can contact tech support tomorrow and see if it can be done.
  9. The cab fuse panel is on top of the dash in the center. The cover is held on with 3 T27 screws. Hopefully the fuse chart is still in the sleeve under the cover. Also the engine compartment fuse panel is under the drivers side below the data link connector. Also hope the fuse chart is in the sleeve on the back side of the cover also.
  10. Wow!!!! It sounds like they reflashed the modules and did not save the customer data. That is not necessary to change the road speed. I will try to get the coporate number for Mack on Monday. They probably left the ABS fuse out or disconnected the ABS module. The ABS fuse is in the fuse panel under the hood. I know we charge 1 hour to perform customer data programming such as road speed. The bill sounds like they possibly reflashed and reprogrammed the EECU and VECU to step 12b which does help with power complaints. They are supposed to get customer authorization before reflashing the modules. If I rember correctly the engine hours can not be programmed to the original hours. I could be wrong on that though. The valve adjustment is 4.9 hours on that engine. I would be very upset as you are. All it takes is pride in your work and good customer communication. I am glad I work for a mom and pop MACK dealership. Sorry to hear about the treatment you have gotten as it makes all Mack dealers look bad. I am glad that you got the engine back together and running good.
  11. The only way to bypass is to disconnect the ABS module. I do not recommend doing that. Why do you want to bypass the ATC?
  12. I am in sunny SW Florida. Yea I see it all the time. Most drivers bring the trucks in complaining of a miss at idle.
  13. Yes it is unfortunate that there are a lot of Mack dealers that work that way. I work for a mom and pop Mack dealer and we dont work that way. We take pride in our work!
  14. The idle proably got lowered by the cruise control switches. You will need to take it to someone who can program the idle and have them turn off the low idle adjust with the cruise switches.
  15. I have see the water pump impeller slip on the shaft only when the coolant is hot on the MP engines several times. I would have it checked. Sometimes you can make the impeller slip when it is warm and you hold the shaft.
  16. The boost pressure sensor should be in the intake manifold on the top side between #4 cylinders.
  17. The boost pressure sensors do go bad. Also the intake manifolds crack and break mounting bolts. Also check the charge air cooler and hoses for leaks.
  18. It should be an ASET AC engine and the turbo drain tube does crack. Also the flange at the turbo is known to bend. As far as I know there is no aftermarket drain tube. I have not seen anyone use anything different either. Also the egr cooler bolts to it where it meets the block. The cooler will need to be loosened to remove the tube.
  19. I have also seen loose water in fuel sensors on the primary filter. A lot of people remove them from the bowl before taking the filter off instead of disconnecting them from the harness connector and put them back in the same way. They unscrew themself when that is done.
  20. Depends on which model it is. There is an indicator in the dash display that are 2 $$ signs that indicate when you are running in the sweet spot.
  21. Check the water pump and water pump housing for cavitation and pitting. The water pump housing should be smooth.
  22. They need to fix it when its in. We check all trucks for recalls and safety campains and complete them. You can bring the truck in for just that if you have no other work to be done on the truck. We do it all the time.
  23. Done lots of those recalls. Unfortunately it does not involve his truck.
