  1. Rob I agree with you. Cat is right there with the rest on this issue.
  2. I have no idea how to make a ventilator. But you can thank GM, Ford and the rest of the US auto-truck makers for helping to almost kill the US tool and die business by sending that work to Red China. Lot more to this story. I know more than a few small tool and die shop owners who hate GM over sourcing parts in Red China.
  3. I would like add one more thing. I hope Americans are finally awaking to the threat that the Communist Chinese are to America. We need to start ending trade with them now. It is not going to be easy and there is going to be a price to be paid, but it has to start now.
  4. The first good news I heard this week. How many Americans still want open borders?
  5. As you read this Ford has a scooter plant in Red China being re-tooled to build parts for them now. What could go wrong.
  6. I wonder if they are distracting too. By the way when was the last time someone flashed there lights when you passed or merged?
  7. Bullheaded we run dumps pulling pups in heavy SE Michigan urban traffic. At least once a week someone somewhere puts a truck over on its side around here. The reason most of the time is high speed. Everyone is driving faster today. If a extra mirror on the hood helps a driver know what going on around him, I am for it. The best looking truck is the one that comes back too the yard at night in one piece.
  8. That is my point, higher speeds, you have too watch your blind spots all the time. None of my trucks have hood mirrors, but I can see with higher speeds the need for them coming. Way too many fools driving on the roads today.
  9. When was the last time were you on a 3 lane high speed road in heavy traffic trying to move over a lane?
  10. I think that in todays urban, multi lane highways, higher speeds, longer trucks, hood mirrors are becoming a fact of life.
  11. I am beginning too think that the Freightliner SD with a DD13 is a good lower cost vocational truck. I think it is the truck Ford should have built to replace the L-Series. DD13 might be the best engine out there now at that size. Never been in one, I hear better truck than Sterling was.
  12. When I was at the brand "X" dealer a man can came in with a Coronado 122SD MI Special (dump train) that was having regen issues (DD15). He still would rather have a DD than a X15. "X" Salesman says they have a lot of issues with Cummins and that they are hard to deal with on engine issues. All I can say is that what I see and hear around here is that those that run 122SD and 4900's with DD15 and 16's seem to have less issues.
  13. Brand X salesman told me last week that coming soon Freightliner will use the "Star" brand name on their next new vocational truck. I wonder if this means the old Western Star cab is going to go away? He says changes coming to Freightliner vocational lines. They will not stock a truck with an X15, by the way. Every week someone asks if they can get a C15 anytime soon.
  14. I am sure GM will sell every electric Hummer they build and the taxpayers will help pay for it. I am not against electric anything, just make the buyer pay for it, no tax breaks, no free charging, pay there fair share of road use tax too.
  15. Bullheaded is the CN still blocked or they back running?
  16. The blond chick was exciting. Sad if BMT has to depend on Volvo now for that now. Swishy?
  17. I wonder if Bill and Jim rode there scooters to work in Dearborn today (20 deg.)? Mary was in her electric Hummer I am sure.
  18. Does Mary Barra know how to make operations profitable? Or does she only know how to shut down and sell off operations. Big market coming for electric, self driving Hummers in her ideal world.
  19. I will say this there were a lot of Paystar mixers here at on time, but now FDM is king now for ready mix. But one thing is for sure here if you see an older Autocar, LTL 9000 Ford, Mack RW753, CL753, Star, KW, Pete or FLD Michigan special tractor pulling a MI 8 axle train or 3-4-5 axle lead, very, very good chance it has a Cat under the hood. That owner is going to run that truck as long as he can. I have said this before, the day some truck maker talks Cat into going back into the heavy truck engine market, they will sell every one they build. It can be done and I am sure that there are people at Cat that know it.
  20. Bullheaded down here Navistar has become rare in the construction market. I know people that were burned by Navistar built Cat trucks and Navistar trucks in general.
  21. The reason you see a lot of L-Series still on the road today is that it was simple, well built truck with a lot of common parts across the whole lineup. For the most part vender drivetrain too. In 1996 I think Ford was selling 2000+ class 7 trucks a month. In 1997 when they gave away the HN80, they should have kept the L-7000 (old Louisville) around. They could have found some room at KTP. With updates, I think they could be selling 1000+ a month L-7000's class 7 today, F-650 for class 6. Roadway wasn't Navistar the leader in class 7 20+ years ago? What happened to the DT466? The people running Navistar, have run it into the ground.
  22. " Doubts about the quality of Navistar's products" says it all. Get real, there done.

    Impeached

David they cannot defend there impeachment farce. The corruption in the Democrat party runs real deep, it runs from top to bottom. There is no integrity at all in there leadership. Take a real good look at these people on how rich they have become while in office. I am not saying that there no one on the other side that have gotten rich off the taxpayer. But the Democrat party and the evil dark money people behind them have a lot to lose as there corruption is exposed.
