  1. Here you go bud.. picture says 1000 words..orings 4 and 6 or 10 and 12 should be your problem.
  2. Something that is rarely mentioned is the superb job done by the codebreakers.they had the Japanese naval codes but did not have the coded name for midway.I think they sent out an uncoded transmission that midway was low on potable water.. the Japanese report it in code and they were able to know the coded name for midway..I believe this is called an inktest in spionage.. sending out a message and seeing from what source it pops up. 3. I would also recommend the series "secrets of war" narrated by Charles Heston.Great info.
  4. Uss Texas just got in for some repairs.i unfortunately missed the last weekend to see it before it Left..it's one of the last of the dreadnoughts..what a magnificent piece of equipment
  5. Congrats on your new to you bulldog..just wanted to add that if you have a Mack transmission, they are a little bit more difficult to remove since the triple counter shaft design makes them very top heavy, make sure you have a good transmission jack that allows you to strap it down real good. Last thing you want is to have that transmission sitting on your lap. On the other hand if you have an eaton transmission , they are much simpler to remove since they're flat and can be positioned better on the jack. Also if transmission is to be removed, might be a good time to replace the puck style motor mounts. Red
  6. Not.. quite..lol...I wish I could retire at 30years old with a big property to store my dream mack collection...
  7. Mine is also anti climatic, R.e.d are my initials,. My name is Roger .Cb handle is BigMack , tried to get a Texas license plate with that handle name ,but someone already had it..lol..they always referred to me over the Cb radio by bigmack because back then my truck was the biggest mack truck they had seen..they all had regular tandem trucks with 14 foot beds til I showed up with my blue BIGMACK truck with a quint axle set up and a 20 foot bed.. Red
  8. Unfortunately my generation (I just turned 30) has become too computerized, everything is solved by googling it. Can you guys believe that they are owners operators that work with me that don't know what setting the lash on the valves is? I asked him if he owned some feeler gauges and he looked at me like if I was asking him how to perform heart surgery. LOL. Red
  9. Check this out and judge for yourself.
  10. This is a tough job.. specially for the first time.As far as tools go, you will need a short anvil stubby one inch drive impact to torque the ubolts..it could be done manually with big ratchet and a 5 foot schedule 40 pipe for leverage...you have 38k pound suspension, the greasable one starts at 44k pounds and up...it can be converted but you would have to change trunnion and heavier duty springs...dont quote me on that last one.. someone will chime in a confirm... Red
  11. This could be as easy as a bad seal ,or like mechohaulic said bearings could have some play and be off on the preload...if it's just the seal check the yoke for wear around the area where the seal rides..there are speedy sleeves if there is a groove on the yoke . Red
  12. Yeah I know what you mean, but it was that or some chineseium piece of crap.. 😂😂😆
  13. Just wanted to add that your ac system was manufactured by red dot.. probably better to go to them for parts than ..mack/Volvo..
  14. Got a mack 13 speed out of a 05 ch, truck is being converted to a eaton 8ll..the 13speed has the typical bad low range synchro.. besides that it works great..800$...Houston tx area
  15. I use m&d distributors... bought six new ,and don't have to turn in your core.
  16. I use these
  17. Assuming you have mack rears , it should be 28 spline ,1-1/2 " hole and 6inch spacing between clevis pin and center of s cam spline shaft.
  18. Like Fjh said , pay attention ..it could be the smallest detail...I had similar problem to yours on my 96 ch 427.. ended up being the primer pump..it would suck air and kill truck after running a while....if you push the primer pump and fuel comes out the primer button then it's defective..even if it's slightly wet.air is thinner than fuel, assume that if fuel gets by ,air will too.
  19. Looks good.
  20. Is this pointer factory or did someone add it?i use the flywheel method because it's dead on..check that the pointer coincides with the flywheel markings..also not trying to scare you but if you have damaged lifter rollers ,it would throw off you lash setting when engine is rotated....
  21. this has been discussed before in the post attached.your eot is normal.... usually the eot and ect delta is usually 15 to 30 degrees depending on engine.. therefore if your engine oil temp is 230 coolant temp should be 15 to 30 cooler than the oil. Red
  22. Damper? timing marks are at the flywheel.Clearance or lash is checked at the piston's compression stroke.if you're setting valves for 1 other valves will be in overlap .
  23. What engine?mack e7, mp8 mp7?need more details friend
  24. If it's metal ,it could be repaired by a good radiator shop.. plastic style in my opinion need replacement. Red
