  1. Jim posted great pix of the extension Here are a coupe of shots of mine. The hooks came off a B that was sitting in the woods. No torches but I had the generator on the pick up and bolts were absolutely frozen. took a coiuple of Sawzall blades then I had to drill them out and eventually drive them out. The flat panel -as well as the bumper and the angled supports for the grill guard came from Doug Fetterly-
  2. Excellent thought!
  3. "41"

If you get a chance, drop a comment on my statement on the KSC issue.  The guy dropped me a PM and feels no one gives a shit about his situation.  I LIKED Swishy's comment.Should work UNLESS-it IS about 150 bucks!

  4. Swishy-Mrs MP--good thoughts-but it would seem to me if this doesn't work, Barry should be able to get this corrected. I for one go to this thread first thing. I value everyone's opinion on this site-but KSC gives us good factual NEWS that if nothing else fosters a lot of discussion on the part of us "civilians" How about it Barry-what does it take to keep this feature going??
  5. Did not catch that- good comment -that is the kind of stuff he has to do versus bashing his opposition within. As for Obummer, same bullshit as him not going to Scalia's funeral!
  6. For sure- this is what bothers me- I'm as pissed as anyone about the current state of affairs-but like I said in a previous post- he is not going to win by getting the vote of us pissed off white guys! Guess what! we are now a minority! I suppose the fact that he can change his position is good when it is obvious he does not know what the fugg he is talking about- the fact that he mouths off when he DOESNT have the facts is not good- you can't do that on the world stage-and maintain credibility as I see it. Let's see how things go this week. We have got to get out of this high school name calling though- the quicker the better-we give the likes of Bill Mahar too much ammo!
  7. Well I guess now that Trump has reversed his stance on this, I guess it is no longer an issue??
  8. Here is a shot of "66/67 4564 I drove in like 67/68 in Geneva, NY. Not me in the shot- Second shot is the same White sometime in 1970. I was the Terminal mgr in Rochester then and Geneva was a satelite terminal I was responsible for. Same driver in first picture (Dick Nielsen) was headed out with 7600 of gas and some guy comes bouncing over a RR crossing in an International straight job with an ice cream reefer box. Truck I guess had "loose tie rods"- going too fast on tracks, looses it and hits the White head on. Guy in binder gets thrown out (minor injuries!) but Dick had to pound out rear windo to get out as doors were jammed shut! In any case 4564, NH-250, RT-910, Velvet Ride. a good fleet truck IMO in its day. Not as good though as the R 237's which by 1970 were our typical 3 axle tractor. And that was more of a case of the 237 being a better motor than the NH-250.
  9. Guys- Thx for responses.- Agree KSC adds a high level of professionalism to this site.. As for "upload limits"-aren't these limits "yesterday's newspaper"?? If that is the case, can't additional space be created by deleting older posts? How about it Barry? I for one would rather lose "ancient history" rather than be denied the latest industry topic-which we will NOT get through the usual filtered trade press-and again, now that I'm retired I am yesterday's newspaper-ugh- no address at a corporate site, no more subscription! I f I don't pick it up on Seeking Alpha, this site has been a good source with KSC's industry news.
  10. Jim, Robert-thx for responses. I have one decent ring but I can't find any stamping on it. As for the Accuride data sheet, is the "3 piece 5 degree-VE Tpye Radial Commander Rim" what we would have had on our 50's/60's vintage 24" spokes??
  11. KSC- Where have you been lately-extenjded vacation? Waiting for you world view on my post reference Ford rumor. Big jump in Navistar stock-something happening in terms of a merger???
  12. Well Barry one good thing-Glad to see the Old school bulldog pop up when you log on as opposed to the new short legged mutt that appears in the header. What was Mack thinking?-like would Ford ever abandon the Script and Blue Oval or Chevy dumping the bow tie???
  13. Guys - I picked up a couple of 24" rims that had some junk rubber on them. 8.00. Long story short the lock rings look like junk. What is the proper id for a lock ring for an 8" rim. I have found one that is listed as a 5 degree. Also anyone have a good source for these things. My closest salvage yard who always seemed to have NYC mixer chassis around has nothing.

  16. Also been back to site twice today and both times had to log on-this just me having this issue?
  17. Boy, I really blew this- I said two years-plus they didn't even use the press release I made for them-oh well Posted 19 February 2016 - 09:41 AM POPULAR Again-my very unsophisticated prediction-in about two years we will see a Cat press release that says....." in an effort to focus on its core business and maximize returns to shareholders, Caterpillar will no longer be producing Cat brand on highway vehicles so it can focus on the product lines that have made Caterpillar a leader throughtout the world as the premier builder of construction and mining equipment."
  18. Had someone telling me Ford was soon to announce new truck that will replace the current steel cab 750. Something about using cab components engineered for latest Cargo. would not be the first time cab over components would be used in a conventional. How about it KSC-you seem to be the guy with usual facts on what is going on in the rest of the world. Anything you can post- Fact or BS??
  19. No doubt, anyone but loon Bernie or snake Hillary. As I see it, this is the last chance we have to reset our course and correct the damage the community organizer has done. Having said that, when I step back and look at the big picture, I say NO WAY trump can win. Not saying he is good or bad, just saying do the math-he has alienated too many factions in this country. Does he turn off a lot of Conservatives, Republicans? Yes Does he turn off a lot of women? Yes Does he turn off a lot of Hispanics? Yes Does he need to convince a lot of people who have only voted the Democratic party line in their lives? Yes Do all of the above have to vote in the majority to determine a winner? IMO for sure! At this point he has appealed to the frustrations of a lot of us. But as many others have pointed out, when it comes to specifics, he has none- as I see it. He is a great tough talking, ass kicking cheerleader but if we think this country has been torn apart by the asshole we have now, what makes you think this guys style will make things any different. As for a good candidate, I am one of those who says for sure I would like to see a gov. vs a senator get the nod- Christie in spite of his warts was right about one thing. Senators go to work and decide how they are going to vote- how they are going to align themselves on the issues of the day. A governor on the other hand is frequently forced to make decisions- hard ones that often have serious consequences. We fortunately still have some time to sort this out. And who knows, maybe some dark horse will surface. Oh last point- I believe Trump said how successful he has been. He started off with "only a million" that his father staked him. If I heard correctly, using that number let's say that a lot of us didn't start off with much. Lets say you started your first job with probably about 500 bucks equity in a car/pick up whatever. Dad probably did NOT give you a big check. Maybe you still lived in the family house for a while but for sure you were not given anything. Having said that, trump is now worth 3.1 billion. If you do a proportion and compare Trump at 1million/3.1 billion and your 500 bucks/"X", if you are worth 1.5million or more today, you have done better than Trump. My bet is there are plenty of posters on this site that are in that boat!
  20. Pat, With all the so called "defections" to Paccar, nice to see a big order with the dog on the hood!
  21. Well K-F- given the way it came out, I would not worry bout the time it took!! And maybe its just me but a lot of Value Liners to me always have a "tired" look-not yours! 68-F- Educate me-(US?) How did you flip the pix? I have a Mac Book if it matters.
  22. To echo Jim- specs? Are they all in your yard yet? Hope to make it to Dennis Y's next week so maybe we will swing by for a first hand look- Bob
