  1. One other thing-VERY safety conscious fleet-it even has a right hand mirror-all 3" of it! As does the International in back of it. Safety pioneers! As for turn signals, that is what your left hand was for😎. It always amazes me that such a simple device as another mirror took so long to be accepted.
  2. Makes you wonder-at least I do-how did they ever make any money? They could not have had significant volume? Sure economy in buying an existing cab but just to engineer it to work with their chassis? Then again when they were building these "kit trucks" the federal regs they had t deal with were Im sure a fraction of what they are today.
  3. Is that a driving front axle or are my old eyes deceiving me??
  4. This truck is now retired. But still on the job! Every year it is outlined in Christmas lights and is Powell's Christmas display!
  5. Good point. Once a guy gets burned the memory lingers on. The 6.7 Power Stroke is another example. The fact that it has nothing in common with the 6.0/6.4 is not considered. All the good memories of the 7.3 Power Stroke are forgotten. I also think the fact that they were even INVOLVED with the Cat truck fiasco is not a plus for them. In any case as one of the last "American" class 8 builders, I hope they make it - and VW remains a minority investor.
  6. Kevin I can't get over the aggressiveness of these guys. No of their presentations look less than professional. For sure takes bucks and dedication to do what they are doing. And given the level of competition they face, even more guts. And by the way-thx for the continuing education. I'm one of those guys who has never been to Europe other than one trip to Tuscany. I still have this impression that all the eastern euro countries are dependent on mule drawn carts!
  7. Ej, You wouldn't be talking about my Galion also known as a Godwin with all of the cast hardware labeled "RS"??😎
  8. No problem- think they have full fenders😎
  9. Beauty- don't ever remember seeing it there-any year.
  10. Kevin Saw a piece in today's WSJ..."Japanese robot maker Fanuc says Chinese demand has declined". Hmnn-wonder if reason is they are using their own. By the way.."Fanuc"...anyway this is/was once GE Fanuc? They made PLCs.
  11. Again, further away from HQ the less "help" you have???? Nah-can't be that simple.
  12. Jim-that is the one at Assabet Mack?
  13. Kevin-enough bad news! Did not know about the two pump makers.
  14. Chinese robots?? Based on our technology or home grown??
  15. Kevin, Wait until the Work Truck Show in March. I have to believe Ford has to make a big hit this year in particular as GM/Navistar will continue to beat the drum on their new class 4,5,6 trucks now that they will be on dealer lots. By the way, this Automotive News piece missed half of the big news-namely the GM/JV and Ford's new big gas V-8, and increased Power Stroke ratings. No mention of impact of GM's re-entry into class 4,5 and 6 as well as the likely positive impact of the 7.3 V-8 on class 6 and 7 sales. Do these automotive press people understand just what the term "commercial" means??
  16. Thx Hippy. Can't understand how this is happening in this economy. You look at their equipment on road-looks good-well maintained and current. Scrolled through their web site-very professional. And to me, Chapter 11 is the route taken to catch your breath and reorganize. This sounds like final objective is a complete shutdown. I'm sure we will hear more.
  17. Matt it will be a show stopper for sure. You should feel good about all the progress you have made. Easy for me to say but I do believe its all downhill from now on. Brooklyn 2021 for sure!
  18. "SIghtliner" as in 48" BBC Binder? Ok as long as your boots were polished!
  19. Rich, Nice A Car -what is that "puffed up" frame attached to?
  20. I was surprised tonight that the cameras did NOT zoom in on OAC or whatever her handle is-they got a few of Kamala as well as that bitch from Hawaii. Our only hope is that all 20 on the list will tear themselves apart in next 20 mos.
  21. Well in any case Kamala is a smooth talking B and the press is in love with her already. Liz will be heading back to the reservation.
  22. My bet would be -better-only natural-and for sure they were better looking. But it is only natural-the longer a truck is in production there are always running improvements. smartest thing Daimler ever did. Thjey paid what 300 mil and look what it bought them in market share. Not to say there share would NOT have grown had they not bought it-but bottom line they took a key player out of the game.
  23. Kevin- I think more of Ford's dumb ass marketing -from the same people who said..." f-750 tractors for towing!. Maybe some confusion because I do believe F-450 dualies are still built at KTP while the 450 and 550 chassis are built at OAP. I always said what if they applied today's technology to the old Super duty V-8's 401-477-534. Sounds like they have done that. Do you know of any other gasoline motors with oil cooled pistons???
  24. Correct-as it is in most states I believe- I was replying to the comment that if "tow weight exceeded 35,000 you needed a CDL. I think in this state (MA) if you have an F-550 say and a trailer over 10,000 lbs you need a class A. CDL
  25. Agree - I can't believe they are not doing something with this-in particular the 9L motor. How difficult to certify that for US. Isn't Euro 6 almost the same. Then again I have been told big news coming at the March Work Truck Show. then again, maybe we heard it all today with the 7.3 V-8 announcement. That motor should make the 650 and 750's big sellers. think of the applications that need the power and gvw rating but don't have the annual mileage to justify the diesel premium. Homerun if they price it right-and it is not a complete pig on fuel.
