  1. Hah- look at the beginning. the guy would have about 6' of slack in the tow rope and then he would accelerate. Unreal. Must be it was not his truck or his strap😆 But they get an "A" for effort.
  2. Well I wonder what brand of straps they were using. I guess that is one way to get a load moving. Also good testimony to the durability of the hitch on that Dodge pickup🤦‍♂️
  3. Well Swishy maybe two then is all it took as I was guessing- one for bowl height and the second controlled the apron and the ejector plate. Pull on cable and apron raises to start loading. At a certain point once apron reaches a given height the ejector starts moving forward. At max ht of apron the ejector plate would be all the way up/forward.
  4. Careful TS-you could be called as a witness!
  5. Anyone have a clue how those cable dozers were set up to control a cable scraper? I would think they had to have three separate drums- one to control height/cut depth of the bowl, one to raise/lower the apron, and one to control the ejector plate. Or was the apron/ejector on same drum? That is, raise apron minimal height to load, keep raising and at a certain point the ejector starts moving forward to dump?????
  6. good move IMO
  7. No..that does matter! To you and probably the rest of us who have a similar memory😎
  8. Nice -seems like it is directed at a truly larger audience than what I think of as Ford Otosan's primary market.
  9. All of the R D Clarke tractors will be in a Taylor & Martin auction in a few weeks. Another small carrier shutting down.
  10. Well scary thought--he has already said to Harris..."I'm coming for you Kid". For sure it will be a woman and he gets double points for a minority.
  11. Nice job but wouldn't a big 4 axle hydraulic crane be a better choice for a job like that??? looking at the angle of that cable, they sure did have a lot of resistance going up the slope. I recognize the capability in terms of pounds drops off big time as the radius is increased but still I would think a big stick hydraulic crane would have an edge. No clue-just asking.
  12. No doubt dozer was an IH. My question though was the tire arrangement...Never saw that combo before. In any case a beauty
  13. Beauty Now that could not be factory original...or could it? Looks like late model TD-14 on trailer- just before they went to yellow and the14 became a15?
  14. I second that. Its a world economy. The way I look at it, I prefer.."Made in USA" ..not just "designed in USA" but have no problem with goods made in EU or even Japan or to a lesser degree Taiwan. But China? They do steal our designs and there is no doubt that they are ruthless in their implementation of their plan to be dominant in everything. I have never set foot in a Harbor Freight. Hopefully all the attention Covid-19 is getting and the fact that the American drug industry has gone for the quick buck in outsourcing to China will bring about some changes. And as for the phony "Greens" in this country, they can smugly smile that our noble environmental standards have killed much of our "dirty" industry-like foundaries- its ok for China and India to crank out the goods that were made here. One thing I think Trump is on to.
  15. Well anything is better than that red crap-but again different strokes for different folks. Local yard has their piles ready to go. I'll pay attention now that you mention it to see what pile shrinks the most. When I need any (for my kids-not me) I go to the source...tell operator.."no teeth or finger nails please"...Hmnn were tub grinders that common when Jimmy H disappeared?😎
  16. I'm sure he will have the proper telephoto lens! Happy BD!
  17. You and a lot of other guys as well. I think the 7.3 gasser is going to do very well
  18. BH, I think the CV competes with F-450, 550 and 600. The MV competes with 650 and 750. As for the CV, I can't say -at least around here- that they are selling that well. I'm assuming the CV and its Chevy counterpart are priced higher than the Fords? When I look under the hood of a Power Stroke 450-600 I say .."ugh- pity the poor guy that has to work on that!" The CV sure has Ford -and Dodge beat with their tilt hood. When will they (Ford and Dodge) address that.
  19. For sure on the skill level. We had a T-6K Michigan backhoe. I think that was the smallest of the Michigan truck cranes with a single axle carrier. I would drive it on road but never "allowed" in cab. The boom and dipper were like 10" dia. pipe. Had a Continental gas engine.
  20. Hah! and I should have noted- that is the per yard price.! What blows my mind is the amount of mulch that gets sold here. Seems like the big triaxle trailers used to come down from Maine. A lot of tub grinders working here these days.
  21. No Jim the silt fence was still in some regulators mind!
  22. Let's face it guys, today's technology is great.. Charge a guy a high price to drop off his stumps, put them in your tub grinder, add dye and presto-that will be 35 bucks please for your your mulch!
  23. 22-B?? Nice 59 Ford. Must have put all the silt fence up just after photos were taken!
  24. Have no fear about Biden. My bet is Mr Perez and the DNC recognize they are in the Alamo and they are encouraging Joe to go out and mingle with folks as much as he can, and Joe..."be a man- no gloves or mask"
  25. For sure-looks like that last bucket was just tripped and looks like there was no room on that belly dump. Also check out the large root-hope that didn't grab an air line when he drove over it. Wonder how many cable shovels are still operational today? Then again, if you had one, how many 70 or 80 year old guys still want to work. New operator manual...." Right stick crowd, bucket, left stick swing, boom, two in the middle-make it move"😎
