  1. I believe it was NBC national news led off with a statement I think it was Sunday night..."nation reacts to years of racisim" ..or words to that effect. No doubt this cop was an idiot who should have been either kicked out or corrected years ago. The arrogant look on his face says it all IMO as he held this cuffed guy down. But having said that, we are back to "black lives matter". And what event started that? Ferguson Mo. and Mike Brown- an absolute POS who intimidated a little Asian shop owner about half his weight and then refused to pay for the goods he took. Amazing how this dirt bag gets glorified. I've been waiting for someone to come up with the most appropriate phrase...."Black FATHERS matter". But none of the pundits have the guts to say that. Read an interesting stat the other day. In 1950, 19.7% of black births were illegitimate. Fifty years later...73%! Saw a cartoon yesterday..."How to break up a Black lives matter protest". Bunch of dudes scattering like hell and a little boy is saying.."Are you my Dad?" Yes maybe an unfair statement but we know what the reality is. I look at all the attention my grandkids get and I say.."no wonder so many kids turn out to be worthless -applies to some white kids too, just a far lesser percentage- when there are no positive role models what do you expect.
  2. Thx Jim
  3. Bet you wish you had it now! But you were like me probably-got the bulldog bug!
  4. '65- When I bought it, the mechanical pump had been replaced with a little electric attached to frame rail. It finally crapped out and I was in process of hooking up a new one -about a 1-1/2" square cube by Purolator.- and that was last time I drove it-20 years ago. That new pump by the way must have crapped out in storage because ended up replacing it with a much bigger one. You are not first person to ask that- creature of habit I guess.๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  5. Well guys, finally got fuel system cleaned out, new electric fuel pump, new carb and oh yes new air cleaner . F-ing mice had taken up residence in the old one and mouse piss is very corrosive. When it fired up today on old plugs/wires blew all kinds of crap out exhaust-mostly acorns. Mine has a 2" lift. My son's has a 3" lift plus a 1" body lift. Can't believe how good that 289 sounds after all these years.
  6. MT-Thx- makes sense-I imagine also helps with the fire danger if a lot of the highly combustible stuff gets some cover.
  7. Ok I give up...The Orange W'Star that is pulling that big skidder-what are those road "wheels" on the end of the skidder?
  8. JP Noonan has a few up here in NE
  9. Well I too was thinking some sort of heavy haul tractor and it was set up to pull the jeep (right term DW?) then again doesn't look heavy enough to be a heavy haul tractor.
  10. Wow-wonder where that 6 x 6 is going.
  11. HX's good looking but when they first came out I saw pix where they had an "egg crate" or "mesh" type grill. IMO thought it was much better looking than the vertical bars-kinda like old school when shutters alone were the "grill". No longer available?
  12. Like I said- I'm giving him 6 mos. We have no better choice. But if he doesn't stop alienating every independent-and a lot of Republicans we are screwed. My circle of pals? They are like most of the people on this site and its amazing as I see it-everyone likes the results and can put up with his bullshit and arrogance but fear he is throwing the election away.
  13. Do you think maybe we should start a petition to get Trump to STFU.....? Or maybe Hannity his no 1. booster should wake up to the fact we are going to end up with a left wing senile Biden in office for 6 mos before he ends up in the home and we have our first female president. Donald Trump picked Memorial Day to attack Rep. Conor Lamb (D-Pa.), a Marine Corps veteran, as an โ€œAmerican fraudโ€ and โ€œpuppet for Crazy Nancy Pelosiโ€ as the president endorsed the lawmakerโ€™s rival on Monday. Trump goofed up the attack, referring to Conor Lamb as โ€œConnor Lammโ€ as he pitched Republican candidate Sean Parnell in the election for Lambโ€™s Pennsylvania seat. Trump appeared to be unaware that Lamb, far from being Pelosiโ€™s โ€œpuppet,โ€ was one of only 15 Democrats in the House who did not vote for her to become speaker in 2017.
  14. Very Nice. I remember when Apgar was pioneering "super single" tires. I haven't seen an Apgar tanker on the road in a long time soI did a search. Looks like the company still exists but now very small..."7 trailers". Anyone have a clue?
  15. Wow- hope that gear box is strong enough! In any case impressive "engineering"๐Ÿ˜Ž Keep the pix/updates coming
  16. Amen- Nice tribute half way through the Nascar race last night. Maybe the way people are forced to spend Memorial day this year will get people to focus on really what the day is all about. I received two "corporate" email "Happy Memorial Day" messages. I responded by reminding them what the day is about.
  17. Beauty And still in service right?
  18. Ah...But "237"- you don't understand..ICE is dead, and AV's and electrics of whatever type are the future, or should I say immediate future- never mind at a measured pace. That is what Silicon Valley has demanded the auto industry provide-and all the lemmings are headed for the cliff! Hackett understands that. And as for the "train station", apparently you don't understand that high tech talent will not work in a conventional building that does not have "history" associated with it๐Ÿ˜Ž By the way 10 billion for the E'stang-your estimate or is that a published number??
  19. I guess that sums up Reuters view on Hackett! I've got a lot of shares and I would hate to see the end of Ford as we know it today. After what Mulally accomplished to bad Bill Ford couldn't find another guy with the same skill sets. As for Farley, from what I have read, he was supposed to be the worlds best car marketer. So much for that.
  20. Carlot- Right on the 534, if it was a Cat the "Super Duty" badge would have been replaced by one saying "Diesel". Hah- go in any Ford dealership today, pick the oldest sales guy and ask if he knows what the first Super Duty was. You will get a blank look. That one is a beauty-from the triaxle to the big rubber front axle with the rubber splash guards. As for that step tank? Even if there was another one on the other side that little tank would keep a guy on the road turning that drum at that, maybe until noon๐Ÿ˜Ž That cab was introduced in 61 -without the "high roof"-I think that came out in 66- but I think for something that came out 60 years ago, it was a great design. Ask a non truck person to ID the age of that truck and I would bet most would not come close. And Terry- your dad did not fool around- steel forms???
  21. Hah!- well given its age I hope it goes out with a 2 yard order ๐Ÿ˜Ž I think the 7.8 Ford was replaced in like 94?? so you folks are running one that is probably at least 26 years old! If nothing else says you must have a pretty good PM program.
  22. Can't say this should be a surprise. Put thousands of people back to work and if you thought this would not happen you are dreaming. I guess the key is what is the response. Surprised this is not on the TV news already as the latest "Bombshell"!!!
  23. Did you note-the two "Eucs" were hand built! Can't imagine the time to get those properly dimensioned even before you start to build.
  24. Pix please?
  25. Noticed quite of few the Fords pictured were 8000's and had the badge under the "8000" that indicated "Ford diesel". I'm assuming that would have been the biggest Ford ag engine, the 7.8 at 240 HP. Can't imagine what they were like when it came to a significant grade๐Ÿ˜Ž
