  1. Shucks, you were right in my neck of the woods. I was born in Alpharetta. It has grown. and changed so much that is getting more difficult to get around. Forty years ago, Alpharetta had an all volunteer fire department. When the fire siren went off everyone cleared the sidewalk as well as the streets. Since the first one that got to the fire station got to drive the fire truck, it could be pretty exciting.

    it's a busy place all right,traffic everywhere!

Sounds like their letting you see some different scenery for a change. I know what you feel like I go to the same marina about 8 times a week. Glad to go somewhere, but I know that road like the road I live on.

  2. Gee,wonder where Paul is,if anywhere...haven't heard anything for a while-hope he's not rotting in jail in an unknown location in Canada. What if he is ,Joe?

Wonder what he's gonna do with the b-67 and the h-model if he's picking up trash along the Trans-Canada Highway for the next 15 to 20?...just a thought,i'm sure he's fine :D

    never mind...

p.s.-did you get your disc yet?

Yeah I got it, great pics. If he had gone to the pin for awhile I had dibbs on the h-model.....

  3. Thanks for the info on the typo Paul, I thought about the titlew of your blog and thought it was a joke. Thinking about the title again I would refuse to lick my truck "Suburban" for security because of the birds using it as their restroom at work. You say it's because of your reading glasses, I have 2-8 month old reasons....lol. Have a good weekend yourself.

  4. Don't feel bad buddy tuesday I got up at 5:15a.m. Layed in the bed till about 5:50 and said the hell with it and went on into work. We open at seven, but the boses get there at 6:30 I beat them there by 15 minutes. Back on point, Have fun at the show, which by the time you read this you will have returned, anyway glad to hear about the mixer you know why they wanted it there? They had to have a good lookin' truck on the lot. Have a good one buddy......

I'm back, had a great day! Took over a hundred pictures! Stopped by Food Lion in Altavista on the way home, got a couple of steaks and cooked them on the grill. Now I've got to figure out what to do with all those pictures...perhaps put them on a disc and send it to Barry? That's the easy way out, takes a long time to put them on webshots or flickr!

C'mon buddy, you can't just leave us empty handed. How about a couple???

  6. Hey Joe,glad you got all that scraitened out (that's e-well,never mind ) Did you change your number-I tried to call you yesterday and today when I was going through Knoxville.Went to Birmingham yesterday with a load of pipes, deadheaded 3 miles and reloaded 3 coils.Left Birmingham at 10:30 this morning, got back to the south Lynchburg Truckstop at 8:30 tonight. And stopped at Bulls Gap and got fuel and 2 cheeseburgers and an order of fries(dollar menu!)

No number is still the same I just run outa minutes. I had my phone switched to pre-pay and used all my minutes calling customers, other stuff to of course, but mostly for deliveries. I didn't realize it until wednesday, so I have to wait until payday. Sorry I missed you buddy, I woulda bought you a couple double cheeseburgers. Maybe I'll catch ya on the next trip.

  7. you may be right Paul, but Other Dog (the beagle) read this first, and it really hurt his feelings...he said he was on his break when the incriminating picture was taken, and now he's afraid his reputation may be permanently harmed...he may need therapy. He also stated that we hardly ever see a duck-billed platypuss or an armadillo in the garden, but he gets no credit for that...I apoligized to him for doubting his ability as a guard dog...when he wakes up i'm going to tell him what a fine job he's doing. I wouldn't trade him for a thousand of them pekanese or what ever-they-ares!

As an ex Law Enforncement Officer "Rent-a-cop" I found that every dog has his day..lol...And that everyone has to take a break. Maybe you can hire him a sidekick, or some kind of alarm system for when he's "Off Duty". I say him and Jobyna sit in the bushes in camoflauge while your at work just trying to catch them waskally wabbits. Tell him to keep up the good work.

  8. Good luck, I've had my permit for 2 years, just no one will let me use their truck. I wish you the best of luck. Have a good one..

That's not surprising Joe-I've been looking for a comment you made one time about your driving habits, but I can't find it-you know, the one about how you drive 100 mph+ every where you go,and hit whoever gets in your way? I know it's here somewhere,i'll keep digging :lol::lol:

I'll be truthfull about it, I've never hit anyone "They hit me" and the last ticket was for reckless endangerment only.....lol.....I slowed down alot after the boys was born, but if you see a loaded 2 ton chevrolet that says "Potters Home Centers" you might need to move. I've done showed a few out by the lake they need to stay on their side of the road.....Kepp looking otherdog..lol

  9. Congratulations on the nephew I've got 2 nieces and a few nephews myself. I got twin boys myself, 7 mos. old. Hate to hear about you having tyo leave a company, because you gotta stay ahead not just break even. There's plenty of freight needing to be moved, your like me I wouldn't move much if any cheap freight. Have a good one buddy and keep the rubber on the pavement

  10. It's not uncommon for me to admit that I don't know where I am.

Ignorance is truly bliss in my world!!

Don't feel bad for some reason I've been having a hard time understanding directions, especially at work :D, While I got your attention do you still have your h-model? Is that gonna be restored next after the b-model? You gotta get some progress pics up for the b-model, I'd like to see the progress. Have a good one...

  11. Nothing like simple arithmetic to confuse a lot of us.

That poor guy is probably still out there going from store to store

trying to find what his mama sent him for.

And you ruined it for him Joe.

Say - how is the family?

We haven't heard in a while.

I wish i could have got a picture of his face whenever i told him that wasn't possible, or better yet my face whenever he asked me that....Family is doing great boys are growing like weeds, just happy to be alive and employed. Thanks for asking

  12. It's all part of fooling with the general public at hand. I work on a lumber yard and make deliveries/pickups. I had a guy wan't a 2x4x16 cut into 2, 12ft. sections. After i explained to him that it was impossible he started getting smart with me, best thing I know to do is WALK AWAY. Sometimes making deliveries the customer starts "Where the hell have you been" My smart a$$ way want's me to say Your mama's, but then I explain as nicely as possible I had 3 more drop off's. Sometimes you have to get smart back with them though, guy wanted me to pull a loaded 1 ton chevrolet loaded to the max into his back yard, I told him I would get stuck, he said otherwise I said the only way I would do it if he signed the paperwork saying I'm not responsible for damage. Not quite on point, but I had to stand my ground on that. I don't blame you though, you have to put some people back in line.

  13. I ain't scared-I believe I can take her...unless she pulls a knife or gun on me! Maybe I should start packing a can of pork and beans while i'm off for protection. ("don't bring anything to a fistfight you can't eat"-Freightrain)

Day 2 in the books,Might need to start a journal like a sailor finding new land.

Captains Log Day 2: Having a hard time living with this woman, she cooks and cleans, calls me honey, then curses at me. I've yet to figure out how to successfully make her not complain.......

    Just pullin ya leg....

  14. Wish I could get a load going there Joe-tell the boss to check out Blue Ridge Lumber in Moneta,Va. for some treated lumber...or is it Blue Ridge Wood? It's Blue Ridge something-or-other anyway. Guess I should pay more attention-i've hauled about 8,000 loads out of there, mostly to 84 Lumber around Oh. and Pa.

I'll mention it to the bossman, we would be glad to have ya. We've been gettin' alot of would from georgia and north carolina. Pretty crappy stuff to.

  15. :thumb: I pull flatbed myself and I wanted to thank you myself for helping out a fellow flatbedder. We waist a heap of time every week waiting to load and unload so when I hear about someone helping one of us out I jump with joy. Keep up the good work. :dwave::clap:

I appreciate it Mackdaddy. Me and Tater "the guy that worked with dad" always make sure the drivers are took care of, and that they get unloaded and all the help they need. We know how it is and glad to help out all we can. If you ever get any lumber going to Potters home center of jacksboro, tn. you better take it...lol Have a good one..
