  1. one of the John Deere's did have a flat tire, but I fixed it. The bead wasn't even seated to the wheel,so I jacked it up,reseated the bead, pumped it back up and it's still holding air now.

Jobyna liked your Tennesee accent-" I like the way he talks...um-hmm".

I said "he probably likes the way you talk too...um-hmmm."

Glad you got your tire problem worked out...lol. I woulda sent it to the tire shop if I seen that it was like that. Yeah she was laughing at some things i said.If she thinks i'm funny, she would really get a kick outa some of these other mountain folks. I say window to their winder, I say tire to their tar. I'm no better than them mind ya, but I pronounce some of my words different..anyway Tell her I'll send her some french fried taters.....um-hmmm...Or some biscuits and mustard......Can you tell like what models those tractors are? I figured the 2 Fords are 8n's? The massey and 2 john deere's I don't know..Have a good one buddy

  2. Sounds like a fun friday. Nice of you to send some hot dogs over there even though the lady is for an opposing team. Maybe you guys can have a good steak dinner tomorrow. I heard a guy tell a waitress once to "Slit it's throat and wipe it's ass" not me though I like 'em well done. Anyway have a good one buddy...

  3. It's worse than I thought -

You mean to say your father was born in 1960?

Tom & I will talk - But we may have to disown you completely.

Although that might not be very smart.

Having a youngster around to do errands is pretty handy.

Yeah dad was born August-1960 and died April-2001. He was a teen in the 70's, which was a time for good rock music. You guys can't disown me, I've gotta have some sorta father figures.

  4. And Joe - you are far too young to understand the importance of

Jethro Tull, Cream, Pink Floyd, and the Airplane. And a lot of other great bands.

Too bad to, because you missed an entire generation of the best music ever put on paper.

    Paul VS

I always told my parents I would of preferred to be born in the 60's. Which my dad was born in '60 so he said he had some good times though.

  5. Those w-900's are nice trucks. I bet she's a runner with that 525. I know where a '69 w-9 is needs a motor and trans. but is in very good shape. Funny thing about kenworth's is all the doors interchange. Someone put daylight doors on this truck which don't look bad at all, but they told me they got them from a '96 t-600...anyway not a bad price for her, but if I'm gonna buy a truck it'll be that R-model from you Paul. Might take me 10 years or so, but have it ready......

  6. Sorry to hear about your loss of a dear friend. A good friend of mine drives a van transporting the elderly, he's in his later 60's know, but an old school trucker from Oregon. His health is going down and I'm worried about him. Always hate to hear about a death especially of a good friend. Try to have a good one buddy.

Thanks noclue, the thing is Mr Garretts health was fine that's why it was such a shock to everyone. I think that if he could have chosen a way to go he would have chozen the anurizum but he loved his family so much I know he would have wanted to say good bye. I hope your friend's health improves and he enjoys life to it's fullest.

    No problem buddy..

  8. On several occasions I used a rubber block for sanding for that kinda work. Anywho, I always wanted to learn how to heat lead and fill small holes in with. Kinda self explanatory, but has to be difficult. Some people have the nack for metal work, I have NONE. I guess dad's truck will be a true test for me considering I've never fully rebuilt a vehicle before. Don't work to hard.....

  9. Kinda took the scenic route both ways did ya..lol. I was telling the guys at work about visit to the Amish country, and Mitch told me about when he was up in the amish country in ohio shooing concrete. Said he met some of the nicest people to drink Yale with as they call it. Anyway have a good one buddy.

  10. Hey your home too. I had today off because I gotta work this saturday. I wouldn't get used to this, when they get you the new pete there gonna run your a$$ off...lol. Have a good time off anyway

I couldn't run much harder than I am already, done got too old and tired. At least I get a little more done in the summer because i'm solar powered and start getting sleepy when it gets dark.

I understand about getting sleepy at night. You can't say that your old and tired, someone has to truck stuff up and down the road. These new 3 week trainees just cant hack. Anyway I found this for you incase you wanna start trucking on your own. Have a good one buddy and tell Jobingo hey for us...

  11. Nice to know I've got friends and connections,

in case I ever am in trouble.

Maybe that's why I live like a saint.

    Always wondered that.

Hey - while I think of it - are either one of you

going to be able to go to Barry's show in September?

I think I'm going - but without a big truck.

    PVS

Always glad to help a friend out, even to break out. No I'm not able to go. I'm gonna try to get my crewcab project built over the remaining of the summer through the winter, to go to shows in. When I find a crewcab that is...

  12. The mediocrity in our society is rampant.

The labor unions had a great big part in promoting this

carelessness, but they aren't alone. Our own families

promote laziness and irresponsibility. Parents want their

children to have an easier time in their life than the parents had.

So their values erode and the kid's motivation is never developed,

as the kid learns to depend on his parents for everything. The child also

learns that if he cries loud enough, the government will give him whatever

    he wants. Great.

All of our advertising says "you deserve an easier life",

even though, in reality, most people haven't done anything to

deserve an easier or more luxurious lifestyle.

It's very disheartening to witness this degradation of America

everywhere we turn. The scarier part of this is - where do we go from here?

Think Barack Obama is the answer - think again.

Think John McCain is the answer - think again.

These guys both talk about change, but they wouldn't know change if it

hit them in the head!! Real change would not get them elected anyway.

McCain is just the least obnoxious of two really dull politicians who are

more concerned about their own careers than about the country.

But, on the bright side, I did see a lot of small town America

last week, and it still looks pretty darn good. In the small towns

of Michigan and Indiana, and finally, Wisconsin, the people were all very nice

    and willing to help us.

These are mostly farming communities with some auto and RV related industries.

The industries are getting hammered by a weak economy and overseas competition.

I'm sure it's the farmer's work ethic that keeps these places as nice as they are.

Found a really nice A model Mack with a wrecker body in Upstate New York.

Appears very solid and all there. Fortunately I was driving on the big road and

couldn't stop, or I'd be even poorer today.

Sorry to hear about your hard week, I figured that GM would be a little better at handling things, but times have changed and still are. Back years ago you could take your car in for an oil change and NOT have to worry about wondering if the man put your oil filter back on correctly...anyway, laziness is some of this countries motto I believe, everyone's looking for a handout, wanting a work related injury, car wrecks. People like us have to work everyday to pay THEIR bills. What do we get " 'ah your alright you can get stitches on your own time". I can u8nderstand if you really deserve it, but some people just ride the system....anyway have a good week next week.

  13. That's a great idea! After he pulls his time there's no reason he can't become a productive citizen again...in fact,I have a plan to spring him-we could send him a pack of twinkies, with an oxygen tank hidden in one twinky, and an acetylene tank in the other one. Then we could put the hoses, regulators, and torch in a bag of Snyders pretzels and send it to him. He could then burn through the bars, make his way to the border, swim over Niagara Falls, then he's home free!

Wow Joe,good thinkin'-Schneider should write you a check for thinking of that!

That's some McGyver stuff your talking about. Maybe we could lean towards the Shawshank Redemption escape plan. Hell, by time he got his tunnel 3/4 of the way done he would hit parole...lol... Plan B: We could stick with your plan, but use 'Ol Bill Weatherstone to be at a checkpoint....Plan C: Use the mixer to pull down a wall, get Paul then haul A$$ to the border.

  14. It's a good thing you drive a truck.

Because you would probably starve as a farmer.

But - there would be plenty of happy neighborhood wildlife.

    On a serious note -

If I were to cook baby back ribs - what would be the best way?

I'm thinking charcoal with the fire indirect to the meat and slow

cooking for a couple of hours. But I've heard a lot of different opinions.

And I could do them on a gas grille.

Or should I cook the meat in the oven first, then transfer it to a grille

    for finishing?

Should the sauce be put on early in the process or at the end

of the cooking? And should the sauce be allowed to carmelize on the meat?

    Thanks,

    PVS

    yes,fat and happy!

I've got a new favorite recipe for ribs, saw it on the food channel show "Down Home With the Neeleys" and I've done it a couple of times, and it's great, very tender.

Yes,after you peel off the membrane from the inside(very easy, much easier than skinning a catfish)cook them with indirect heat with the curved side up first (meatier side down),'til they're half done, then turn them over and cook them 'til they're 2/3 done. Then wrap them up tight in aluminum foil and finish cooking them. They said by the time you wrap 'em up they've already gotten the charcoal/smoke taste, and they baste in their own juices in the foil. That's when i'd add sauce, when you seal them in the foil. You don't need to put them in the oven or boil them first, when I did this recipe you could grab the end of a bone and pull it right out, leaving only the meat.Best and tenderest I'd ever cooked. I still use the "boil in beer, garlic and bbq sauce" recipe for the country style ribs, but for spare ribs and baby back ribs the is the best recipe i've tried.

Amber watches that show too. You guys talking all this food makes me hungry.

  15. but I wanted the H! I already have a b-model. That's ok though,I could start a fleet- a b53,and a b67-yeah,that'll b-fine! If he's picking up trash on the Trans-Canada Highway in an orange jumpsuit for the next few years he won't be needing 'em. I knew he shouldn't have been talking about how easy he got across the border! They must've nailed him the next time he crossed, probly been watching him all along <_<

Alright you can have the H-model, in return you have to help me finish the b-model. Just think, he could keep his orange jumpsuit and be a spokesperson for Schneider.
