  1. Thanks for the reply.....and the extra "like"
  2. I have been a member on this forum for a little while, and am curious as to the "stats" that show up under my user name and pic. If some one could explain the number in the green oval, itwould be appreciated. Most of the rest makes sense, but I wonder why I have a "1" in said oval..... Thanks in advance, Jordan
  3. Can't beat up to date paper maps.... I'm lucky to get to run the same areas (more often than not), and have become more familiar with them....but if I have to go somewhere new, I always check with Mr. Rand-Mcnally first...m
  4. There's. My mental image...wonder why.....
  5. Not trying to use it as an amphibious vehicle, but demolition and construction mean I gotta get in and out of some crazy spot, full lockers are the way to go. Most every vocational truck in my area has at least front rear lockers, and more often than not...full lockers.
  6. Not positive but I seem to think passenger side under the exhaust, someone with more info will likely chime in.....what motor btw
  7. I belive Ontario is the same. Both are required, but only one is needed to prevent oos
  8. Gotta check it first. The bitch on my dash has nearly gotten a black eye a few times for stoopid directions. Good for things like eta, heading, speed etc, but I'm the boss and know how to get there. Good for highway exit reminders too.
  9. Gps are useful tools, but your still the boss
  10. I have not run a dynatard, but the powerleash on my mp7 405m does a very good job holding back 85000#.
  11. looks to be the same as our 1988 rd688s tandem.....not that im much help....just pointing it out
  12. Warning: Off topic i ran a 2002 granite triaxle roll off on the farm for a bit, and the fuel gauge read how much air was in the tank......useful after i found out the hard way.....at least i was on top of the hill, and the fuel at the bottom. pain in the ass to "strong arm" a class 8 tho. Sadly, i quit there before the problem was resolved, then the truck was traded i n on another mack (was chattin with one of the drivers)
  13. HATE to knock mack, but our 88 rd 688s is always getting stuck on the farms (with mack axles, not sure the rating, but regardless), my 2011 with meritor drives and full lockers has only once needed a push (out of a pit). had lockers on my first jeep and as long as one wheel had grip, I could fight my way out.
  14. Back in my jeepin' days, there was always at least one welder and one air compressor in the pack.....mind you, that was jeeps and pickups...not that heavy of steel. Saved our asses more than once.... Oh, can't forget the all important winch truck.
  15. A farmer I worked for ran Eaton fuller 18s in all his rigs, but were mostly driven like 12s. Very rarely needed to split the low box. The bottom end of the 8ll in my roll off (and the rd) are nice and tight, but it would be nice to have the extra gears in he top end.
  16. The last farm I worked on had case/new Holland stationary engine for the hammer mill that used a cut down truck fuel tank, and long story short, the vent ended up being run outside to keep it from sucking dust and shit into the tank.
  17. The factory tagged my door with 19000# before the roll off hoist was installed (no driver, minimal fuel). As I am in Canada, and we use metric, I am 14500 kg no bin, but tarps chains and a half tank (100 litres) of fuel. That's a 2011 gu813. Our 1988 RD is about a half tonne loghter, same conditions. Through this experiment, I was able to figure our tare weights on the bins were optimistic by about 1000kgs. Edit: GU813 is a triaxle, and the RD688S is a tandem.
  18. I believe it is called a "shit fucker-upper"
  19. Ha, wouldn't want to have to drop the shafts on either roll off, lot of frame they have to cover....and I'm not a very big dude. Already got into a fight with a bungee cord (and lost, it split my upper lip) today, wouldnt want to play that game too
  20. Mine is an 2011 mp7 with the def system. I have 88000 km and 3000+ engine hours and have only had 3 parked regen. As a roll off for a roofing company I do ALOT of idling, mostly shooting gravel (anywhere from 2 to 6 hours at a time). Can't say I have had any problems tho. I will keep an eye on this thread, as the boss man keeps talking about replacing the 1988 RD688 with anew truck. Trying to push him for something more that the 405-m I run now.
  21. Our other truck is an 1988 RD and it also has top loaders
  22. I was over dropping my GU off for service at the dealer, and was parked beside a brand new cabover rear load trash truck chassis with top loaders in it.
