  1. Really wish we could have made it up there, but other things had priority. We will be first in line at the Fergus truck show this year
  2. Always. Just giving everyone a show..... Had to drag the tails for a few inches, but she sat back down
  3. I was under there earlier this week and everything seemed straight, but when I'm back at work (on Tuesday after the long weekend, woohoo), I will take a closer look.
  4. Heard many stories of people opening maxi's and getting seriously hurt, because they didn't understand....know what your getting into
  5. which bushings (shackle or eye end of spring) would be most common for the clunking....i have an intermitten clunk in the front end, motsly turning left thru roundabouts. i have kept up with the preventative maintenance, but the truck had 30000km when i took it over, and that kinda concerns me. how can i check for crappy bushing with out taking it all apart. like i said, it comes and goes, no rhyme or reason, so may not be the problem, but id like to check.
  6. My roll off is 23' from steers to center of tandems. Plus about 3' of front end and about 8' behind the center on the walking beam, and maybe 45 degrees on wheel cut...not the most nimble of vehicles....even better with the 40' roof conveyor on a 20' pintle to axle spread......that shits a blast, 20 ft of tail swing. In ontario, if there is more than two lanes, comercial vehicle can "sit" on the dividing line using the 4-ways to take both lanes, if it is safe to do so, but no 4-wheelers seem to know, maybe because it is only in the truck books.....very useful at roundabouts/traffic circles, if everyone knew...... Sorry, im done ranting. i could go on about idiot drivers forever.....
  7. In this area (probably the same shit everywhere on this frigging continent), not even cars follow the "right turn, right lane, left turn, left lane" mentality, despite the ease. Sometimes we have to run wide to MAKE THE DAMN TURN, but I don't think anyone with any respect or pride in the job does it "just because"....twice today (same site), some yahoo tried to pass me on the right after a left turn, despite the right blinker indicating a merge after completing the turn. Growing very weary of the "I'm more important than you" attitude..... total bs....IMHO

"check the front end for me, would ya"

More ruts...about 150' of wet lawn ruined. Better that than tearing up a drive or shafts...i suppose
  10. From the album: RRR Inc.

Hard to tell in the pics, but the ruts are about 6" deep.

First time I've needed a wrecker in over a year of driving in some tricky stuff......
  12. From the album: RRR Inc.

Probably a 6-12 or 8-12 pitch to the drivers side with 12,000+kg of roof in the can.

Was going well...till I hit the soft stuff. Had rained good the night before, should have walked the whole run to see.
  14. From the album: RRR Inc.

Passenger side drives...not to bad. Sad the hill went to the other side.

Walking beams ON the wet grass...guess I'm not crawling out of this one.....Oh well, first time in over a year I need some help
  16. From the album: RRR Inc.

drivers side rear drive...stuck in the grass

Morning stretch picking up trash at a slaughter house we did the roof on....Sorry for the quality, off my phone
  18. Our 88 rd688s (in canada) also has symmetrical round tanks....poor old girl might be getting put down, I'll keep you posted. Long way away, but if you can't find anything else.....my wife has an aunt in Australia......
  19. MapArt and Rand-McNally for me in southern Ontario. Run mostly inter city, but the "back road atlas" has paid for itself....damn I hate getting lost.
  20. I flash everyone that wants back in not to insult good, professional,.courteous drivers, but to cover my ass from idiot steering wheel holders....i got two daughters and a wife at home who expect me back every night..... I know where my corners are, but I very much appreciate a flash, not just so I know I'm clear, but also that the guy behind me sees my intention.....common courtesy goes.a long way. We are all out here to do our job and get home without incident.
  21. I am currently involved in an argument with a few drivers on another forum I belong regarding the courtesy flash.....going around in circles with hot shots.....good times if you dont know where your corners are.....STAY HOME......
