I did not know that. I thought the trolley activated the tractor rear brakes. But your saying the trolley only activates the trailer brakes.

Right. Treadle valve operates both, trolley valve only operates the trailer (if the check valve is working correctly and installed right).

  2. They do show up on ebay from time to time. All Vintage Trucks has some B model service manuals and parts books, but keep in mind these only cover one truck configuration so you'd have to see if the book you're looking at covers your engine, trans, and rear ends. I have some books that help me with some parts of the truck but other parts are not like mine. They're $125 each.

the valve in question should be the double check valve for the trolley valve on the steering column . pedal application has air through the valve to back brake valve same time the shuttle in the check valve closes air to the trolley valve. pulling down trolley sends air through check valve  switches shuttle to close off pedal and send air brake valve .keep in mind, i discussing older vehicles. not many have trolley valves from what i hear.without the check valve there would be and exhaust of air from application not being used.

Mechohaulic is dead on...the double check valve keeps the trolley valve from sending air to the tractor brakes.

I'm not positive but I thought it was a #10 jic as I always use -10 AII air brake hose to the dryer.  100r5 hose same as the truck uses for the fuel lines.

My '59 has all -10 hose from the compressor to the wet tank, it had a 2' piece of copper line off the compressor then a piece of 100r5 the rest of the way. I switched it to stainless braid, they call it "discharge hose". Made to take the high heat coming off the compressor. I bought a 4' premade Tramec-Sloan line from finditparts.com for $60.

I was on the lookout for Replacement steering wheels a while back, like 10 years ago. I did get a new Black one from Charmers back then, it was the smaller diameter wheel so I had a little more room for the Belly in a B cab.

I don't know if this wheel will have the correct spline but it certainly is worth a call to ask. I have posted this website before, prices and availability seem OK. Looks like they have both large and small diameter.

    $142.00 each

I checked with Erik's, that wheel is 20". He said he would measure the splines to see if it would fit, but I'd better stay with the 22" wheel.

Just curious what is the actual cost to get one recast if you know? I did not know there were companies doing this.....

There are several companies that do it, just google steering wheel repair.

I am definitely going to check those out, that's a good price.

You also might want to check some of these custom big rig steering wheels I know you probably don’t want to go that route but at least take a look at what they got you might find something you would be happy with good luck

I want to stay with the original style, that white one would work fine but it's a 20" wheel and with manual steering I need the biggest one I can get. Mine's 22" and that extra 2" makes a big difference.

What model of truck are you needing a wheel for

    It's a 1959 H67ST. Probably any 22" wheel from the 50's and 60's would work.
