  1. remember-dull knife = more pain. ...but I don't know what someone could have done to cause that problem
  2. if that's not a misprint, the fuel tanks are worth more'n that .Look at those bulldogs-they got everything covered-the two on the mirrors are lookin out and the ones by the headlights are looking in . Better sharpen all your knives,I hear a dull knife hurts much more.
  3. I'm gonna wait for his report, and if he likes it I might come too. Plan to open a barbecue joint when I get there. Already ordered the plans for a kangaroo trap from ACME products.
  4. I saw a move kind of like that on "Ice Road Truckers",except for the ice part.
  5. I should've picked the tomatoes yesterday, but said "naw,i'll do it tomorrow". Now it's raining, and been raining all night. Not only is the 'mater patch muddy, the rain will cause them to split open ...but,my laziness aside,we do need the rain . The weather has been causing the satellite signal to come and go,so the pc works periodically. Watched Bullwinkle this morning.I thought he was Canadian, like Dudley Doright, but he's from Minnesota. A fine actor too,I didn't appreciate his humor as much when I used to watch him and Rocky years ago,but he's a great comedian-I like the way he talks...mmm-hmmm. and Joe,saw this in the Tractor House paper-got "NoClueJoe66"written all over it...
  6. How about Ontario? I hear it's nice...but i've always wanted to visit Canada. I'm afraid if I go up there they wouldn't let me back in when I tried to come back
  7. yeah,I agree, that N14 was hard to beat,I drove several of them, the W900 I drove for Jeff before he traded for this Peterbilt was my all time favorite truck-had an N14 525 in it,never broke down, only once failed to proceed when the air compressor "come undone". Todd's getting ISX Cummins engines in the new trucks and one of them had the water pump go out on the very first trip-like trucks, they don't make 'em like they used to!
  8. I can understand wanting to get the hell outa' New Jersey, but all the way to Australia?
  9. I noticed lots of cameras on the roads around Fishers on Google Earth, like they've got street view or something...not that I ever look at Fishers or anything, but if you were to disclose your exact location I could spy on you better
  10. wow!- sounds like great advice to me! I like old GMC's too-I joined that GMC site a while back looking for 860 pictures but didn't see any-they're my favorite old Jimmys.
  11. I went by Carter Cat this morning and pulled the truck outside the gate so I could get it Sunday, then went to Concord, got my check, went to the bank, then the post office for stamps, then to Appomattox to the drugstore, and when we got back to Concord and turned on 24 Jobyna saw a little water can at the little flea market they always have on the corner there,by the produce stand.Of course she wanted to stop and look around. I said "I don't want none of that crap",so we stopped to look around. I found 2 "Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle" tapes for a dollar each. Made a pretty good score there after all.
  12. I told Jeff one time I had a gallon of gasoline in the side box in case it catches on fire . It should be fixed today,i'll be leaving for Cincinnati Sunday-it was just an intake valve actuator malfunction (about the third time, along with broken rocker arms a couple of times, one turbo, overheating problems-mostly Cat problems more than Peterbilt)

    What's New?

uhh...ain't been yet. But I did call my dentist from Alabama Tuesday, and he called in a prescription for some antibiotics for me. I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow. I might be a procrastinater.
  14. I like the one with the 2 piece windshield-some of the best looking trucks ever.I always liked the looks of the Freightliners in the '70s and '80s, cabovers too.
  15. ...now that's just funny right there! Yeah,Jeff's pretty smart like that.I've got a refrigerator in it too. as a matter of fact i'm at home now instead of on the way to Cincinnati because it's broke down again. It did make it in under it's own power though. I passed everybody on I-85 from Atlanta to Greensboro with 46,000 lbs. of rebar on.Then the engine light came on and everybody passed me back before I got to Richmond. It's at the Cat place now.
  16. thanks Underdog, for jumping in there first and sparing me from the wrath of Rob! Rob has never been known to be wrong(yet),but you don't want to get on his bad side.
  17. sorry 'bout that,I have to drive what Jeff gives me
  18. - captain's log...9 days later...still uploading file...
  19. must have taken you a long time to leapfrog both of the trucks to California and back
  20. I might have seen you around somewhere, I run the same general area-lot of Ohio and western Pa, but I might turn up most anywhere.
  21. I put the Bulldog mirrors on the mixer and I didn't know which way they were supposed to be facing either.I have mine facing out. Everything was fine until Jeff told me they were backwards, but I never did change them. I've seen pictures of lots of mirrors turned the same way as mine, but most are facing each other. I don't think you'll get in trouble either way they're facing, the main thing is that they're not upside down. I watched an ATHS video a while ago and noticed that the late Dr. Bill Comcowich's were facing out on his W-71 too,so i'm gonna leave mine facing out unless the mirror police make me change 'em.
  22. they should have sued George Bush too-I'm sure it was his fault, everything else is! Reminds me of what the insurance man told us at the last safety meeting. A truck driver was involved in an accident on 285 in Atlanta that was entirely not his fault in any way, shape or form but he was running over his 11 hours driving time,so they ended up pinning it all on the truck driver because they said he wasn't supposed to be there in the first place-that's B.S. too. And I'd vote for Clarence Thomas, J.C.Watts, Colin Powell, or Condaleesa Rice for president with no second thoughts...but since they're not running I guess i'll have to go with Sarah Barracuda.
