  1. I buy them cheap dollar store brushes, use them once and throw them away. But I just paint the picnic table or porch about once every 17 years or so, don't do a lot of painting. If I do have an expensive brush I clean it good after using it then stick it in a can of gas and let it sit for several years before I throw it away.
  2. I used to like to go with Claude Allen Moore to help retrieve his auction buys. He owns a machine shop and a lot of time he would have to bid on a lot, usually a lot of stuff together, or sometimes every thing in a room at large factories or industrial plants, when all he wanted might be one particular machine tool. He always requested me because i'd always help him sort stuff, move stuff, carry stuff, load stuff,or whatever, instead of waiting in the sleeper or something while they loaded the trailer like most drivers would do. The old " that's not my job" deal. Most of the stuff that he didn't want or couldn't use he could resell easily but there was still a lot of things they just threw away and he told me if I wanted any of it to help myself, so I did. Got some pretty neat stuff sometimes.
  3. As a matter of fact he called me last week. He said he left Potter's again and went to work for another building supply company, still driving a buggy truck though. He said he liked it better, they treat him well, and he's making more money so that's all good. Apparently he's in love too, every time he sends me a text message or picture he signs off with "Joe loves Candice". He should send me a picture of Candice so I can evaluate her.
  4. Gee, even i'm almost speechless...but not quite. One of the greatest posts i've read here Olivetroad, absolutely a great story and thanks for sharing it. My hat's off to your uncle. And great pictures by the way- that's a beautiful home he built! And thank you too Mack, great story too and i'm really sorry for your loss. Now- I wondered about those shoes as soon as I saw them, they just didn't fit the profile! And that paint looks great- c'mon, didn't you have them trucks buffessionally painted at Otto's Affair, or something like that, in central Illinois?
  5. I see Art Reed has a blurry Superliner at his place in Montvale too. I got a good picture of a Cline dump truck. I saw a colorful old firetruck in Bedford. Stupid pole.
  6. Got a picture of the back of the truck, and it's cousin is parked over by the building behind it.
  7. Yeah, be careful in there- I usually fuel at Truckworld about twice a week.
  8. My neighbor has a V8 Massey Ferguson. It's red. He must wash and wax it regularly, never seen anyone keep a tractor so clean.
  9. Just don't let that fat girl model back on it, you'll spend all your money on seats and tires.
  10. thanks for discovering that picture Mack!
  11. Breaking news- Randyp buys scraper, hires helper, doubles dirt moving capacity! Daingerfield, Texas- Randyp has added a new scraper to his dirt moving operation and hired an operator so he can concentrate on driving the new dump truck, which is twice as big as his old dump truck. thanks to Hatcity- the brains of this outfit.
  12. same here. supposed to hit the 60's here Wednesday.
  13. I thought about ol freightrain, but I don't have his number. Yeah, they towed me from Newcomerstown truckstop. Towed the truck with the load of treated lumber too. The guy at Reed's asked me if I was going to drop the trailer or wanted the whole thing towed. He said it would cost more to take the trailer too. I said Kenworth is paying, take the whole thing.
  14. apparently no bosses or managers were there, because if I heard an employee say they "didn't give a f**k" about the place I couldn't show them the door fast enough. You don't need people like that working for you, and there's probably lots of people that would appreciate her job. And there's no way they couldn't have heard her...hmmmm-just thought of something-maybe she was the boss man!
  15. I miss Rhasler too- especially his pictures. Last time I talked to him he said he was busier than a 3 legged cat covering up doo-doo on a concrete sidewalk, but that was a good while back.
  16. Yeah, I was just there for warranty work only because I broke down and it was the nearest KW dealership but I was a bit shocked. Sounded more like what you'd hear on the back row of a truckstop when some drivers are stuck for the weekend and get a case of beer and then another case of beer and then...certainly not what i'd expect to hear at a truck dealership, or any public place of binness for that matter. Hope I never have to go there again.
  17. I saw it in N.C. at an ATHS show.
  18. Nice find! I see an auxilliary trans. no. on the plate there, i'm guessing that's what it is, a 5 main, 3spd. aux.
  19. good thinkin'.
  20. The thing is, it wasn't directed at me and didn't seem to affect my situation one way or the other. The service manager was actually pretty nice, unlike the 2nd. shift guy Jeff talked to on the phone the night before. Jeff said he was a real a-hole. I was sitting in the customer waiting room just listening to the conversations going on. A female type person came back to the service desk and asked somebody where the paper was that she was supposed to have. A man said "I put it on your desk". She says "there it is, on top of the f**king file cabinet!", and stomped off. A few minutes later a man was saying how he was going to "f**K somebody up", I was assuming he was talking about another 2nd. shift worker just from the conversation. Then the female type person came back and said she "didn't give a f**k about this place, I just happen to work here!", along with more bitching and cussing. And all of this was loud enough for me to hear as well as anyone else who might have come in. And that's just the parts I remember, it was going on pretty much the whole time I was there. I've heard a lot of cussing in my time, done a bit myself, I've just never been in any place of business and heard such carrying on before.
  21. Or you could get one of these- the torch this guy is using is about 5 or 6 feet long, and is capable of cutting the rings off these mill rolls, so a counter weight shouldn't be a problem. They've had the fire department called more than a few times, especially when they do this at night. The folks around there think the whole place is on fire.
  22. I saw one of those once. Even took a photograph of it.
  23. I did see a nice looking Peterbilt while I was waiting.
  24. She didn't deliver the fuel line. As a matter of fact I was debating whether or not to contact Kenworth and tell them what a classless, totally non-proffessional place KW of Canton was or just forget about it. I have never been in a place of business before and heard such cussing and bickering as I did there.
