  1. Yes, I forgot to mention that about NASCAR, but it was another reason for losing interest. Every year everything was more expensive than it was the year before. Ticket prices, food prices, and when we got a motel for the Charlotte races they would jack the room rates up double or triple what the regular rates were, that always pissed me off. I know it's legal, I know it's supply and demand- but it still pissed me off.
  2. From '83 until the late 80's or early 90's we went to both Charlotte, both Martinsville, and both Richmond races every year. Went to several at Rockingham, I'd try to get a load going to Florida on Rockingham race weekend and drive the truck to the track. That was a great track. Spent a lot of money going to races, but I enjoyed it. Now I don't even watch it on TV.
  3. All because they're scared to death of being called racist. I was having an online argument - I mean discussion- one time about how NASCAR sucks now, and it's too "gimmicked up". I never liked "the chase", never liked the stage racing, the "roval", or whatever they called it, never liked the idea of Bristol being a dirt track. And as soon as I said they don't have sense enough now to tell a loop tied in a garage door rope to make it easier to pull down and a hangman's noose I was called a racist. I never called any names, and I heard it was actually one of Bubba's crew members that saw the loop tied in the rope to make it easier to grab and pull the door down and called it a noose, but anyway, I was a racist for mentioning it. Now NASCAR is like the NFL to me, I couldn't care less about either one.
  4. I tried the bacon flavored Spam and it's good.
  5. My son said he was watching TV with my grandson the other day. They were watching a cookie bake off on the food channel and he said he turned it off when the gay guy started frosting and decorating his cookies with "gay pride bu!! $h!t" instead of just making cookies. Yesterday he said Graham was bored and looking for something to watch so he said "you can watch the gay dude on the food channel" and Graham said "I don't want to know how to make cookies shaped like a dick". He's 11.
  6. That's funny, Zina's dog Ollie used to jump up and go crazy at the TV when any kind of animal was on. He'd even bark at horses, but especially dogs. I'd always laugh because I thought it was hilarious, and she'd yell at him. And none of the 3 dogs we have now pay any attention to anything on TV.
  7. ...or a BB in a boxcar. Or the other old saying "if brains were gasoline he couldn't run an ant's go cart around a cheerio"
  8. They used to pay a $50 bounty for coyotes here, but I think they stopped because they were going broke paying the bounties. I know people who had recordings of a rabbit in distress and night vision scopes, and they'd hunt them and usually get a few every night they went.
  9. Oh, absolutely. I should have been paying closer attention and not repeated what I wasn't sure of, but when I heard his guest say "the population of Pittsburgh" I was shocked. I've been to Pittsburgh many, many times, and there's lots of folks there! But anyhow, that's actually what the conversation was about, how it's not being reported just how many illegals are crossing and how people just don't really understand the magnitude of it all. Even democrats are saying they need to change the border policy now.
  10. My bad, It's about 12,000 a day they said, I just googled it. 12,000 a day. About the equivalent of the population of Stuarts Draft.
  11. It probably was the total number then, I could have missed that part. Only 300,000 illegals for the year then, no big deal.
  12. And that's exactly why the evil democrats are scared to death of him now, and try to pin any charge they can think of on him. And so many people don't even seem to care. You know, I heard on the Dan Bongino radio show yesterday that the illegal immigrants coming across the border EVERY DAY amounts to the population of Pittsburgh! That's just crazy!
  13. Yeah, sure it is. I bet you couldn't hire her fast enough! 🤣
  14. I was looking through the 29,000+ pictures on the computer for a particular picture a while ago and ran across a couple I hadn't seen in a while. Zina took this picture of a dog at some country music festival when she was still living in Florida, long before we were married. And here's some of my handywork, from 2015 I believe it said. Lot of members were on that day.
  15. I hope we get a nice bonus this year. For Zina, I've never used the self checkout.
  16. That's a good question! Like that idiot in Pa, and that other idiot in Pa. that dresses like a woman, and that idiot in Washington who doesn't know what planet he's on, but he's the president...it doesn't make any sense.
  17. We went on Thursday this year, and we left early. Vicki lives in Deltona just off of I-4, so it's only about a 10 or 15 minute drive. We drove straight in, no traffic, and parked where we didn't have to walk a mile to the car when we left. Last year and the year before we went on Friday or Saturday and even though we thought we left early because she lives so close, we sat in traffic and hour or so trying to get in and get parked- and we had to walk a mile to the car when we left. It seemed like a mile anyway. The only down side was that we probably missed seeing some cars that didn't get there until Friday or Saturday. But, on the other hand, there's so many cars and so much to see we've never seen everything there was to see in a day anyway.
  18. It's been a long time since I've seen one of these! Somebody around where I lived had one when I was a kid, used to fly up and down rt. 13 in it. I think it was blue and white, that was many years ago.
