  1. Funny you should ask Joe -

I do indeed have the H-63, and coincidentally we are

moving it tomorrow from the storage barn to a

preparation spot in the truck shop.

Probably won't start it, though, until after the B-67 is all done,

and I would like to do the rockers and paint work on

    the R-600.

I would consider selling the H-63 and the R-600 as they are,

if someone were interested in restoring either one.

The R will be a pretty easy resto - it's all there and runs and drives

perfectly. Even all of the lights, heater and fan work as they should.

No leaks or smoke and good brakes and rubber.

It just needs the rocker panels and lower rear cab corners.

    Have a good holiday!

    Paul VS

    I took an old dryer,electric range,and a hot water tank to the recycler yesterday-brought $22.40...not bad,but I guess I need to keep digging before I can afford a truck,huh?

  2. Kathy says to me -

"You gotta wonder what they see in an old fat bald man"

    To which I reply -

    Gee - thanks Honey.

How the He-- did we get this old?

    beats me-the other day I got out of high school,got a job,got married,raised a family,now all of a sudden that's history,children are grown,I'm on the back side of 50...wtf?!!

  3. THIS CUSTOMER IS A YELLER AND A SCREAMER SO IM SURE IT WILL COME BACK TO ME. BUT I JUST COULDNT HELP MYSELF!! IF ANY ONE EXPECT TO DISRESPECT ME TO MY FACE AND HAVE ME NOT SAU SOMETHIN THEY AR DEAD WRONG

    :P I knew a screamer once,every time she-ahh,never mind!

  4. I ain't scared-I believe I can take her...unless she pulls a knife or gun on me! Maybe I should start packing a can of pork and beans while i'm off for protection. ("don't bring anything to a fistfight you can't eat"-Freightrain)

Day 2 in the books,Might need to start a journal like a sailor finding new land.

Captains Log Day 2: Having a hard time living with this woman, she cooks and cleans, calls me honey, then curses at me. I've yet to figure out how to successfully make her not complain.......

    Just pullin ya leg....

:lol: you don't know how true that is,Mr. Spock! She woofed all the way home from the store the other day when I looked over at the peach tree in the back yard at the house on the corner of Marysville Rd. and 699,just to see if there were any peaches on it. The very, very, attractive blonde that I said had a nice tan on the way to the store, wearing tight blue jeans and a red tank top, had gotten in the car and left while I was putting gas in the truck at the store, and when I looked at the peach tree she said "don't break your neck",insinuating that I was looking for the babe. Of course when I said I knew she wasn't home I was digging myself in deeper. I've never paid any attention to her-even the day she was out there pushing the lawnmower in those cut off short-shorts and tight white tank top, with her long blonde hair in a ponytail. She was on a riding mower yesterday, wearing jeans and a yellow top...but I didn't turn my head when we went by- I hardly noticed. I really don't pay any attention to her at all. :whistling:

  5. It's all part of fooling with the general public at hand. I work on a lumber yard and make deliveries/pickups. I had a guy wan't a 2x4x16 cut into 2, 12ft. sections. After i explained to him that it was impossible he started getting smart with me, best thing I know to do is WALK AWAY. Sometimes making deliveries the customer starts "Where the hell have you been" My smart a$$ way want's me to say Your mama's, but then I explain as nicely as possible I had 3 more drop off's. Sometimes you have to get smart back with them though, guy wanted me to pull a loaded 1 ton chevrolet loaded to the max into his back yard, I told him I would get stuck, he said otherwise I said the only way I would do it if he signed the paperwork saying I'm not responsible for damage. Not quite on point, but I had to stand my ground on that. I don't blame you though, you have to put some people back in line.

geez, all you had to do was rip 'em in half, and saw 4' off of them - 2 12' 2x2's-how much simpler could it be?:lol::lol:

  6. Right is right no matter where you are, Cairo Egypt, or Cairo Ill. However, sometimes a little diplomacy is in order. The old saying is, [What goes around, comes around]. In the words of Davy Crockett, Make shore your right, then go ahead. Just keep in mind that having the last word is not worth much, when the last word is Goodbye.
"...it's up to you,as Davy Crocket said..." I remember that song from the Walt Disney Davey Crockett movies. Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett) played Davy's sidekick, but I don't remember his name in the movies.
  7. sounds like he's an a-hole. sometimes there ain't no other way to say it. he should at the very least be polite to you.Good for you for standing up for yourself! :thumb: I hate having to deal with a-holes myself, but unfortunately I run across them sometimes when I go somewhere to pick up or deliver a load. Like everytime I go to Galv-Tech in Pittsburgh...or United Steel Service in Masury,Oh.

  8. If creatures eat all the fruits and vegetables I might have to join P.E.T.A.-that would be the "people eating tasty animals" one,not those other ones :D

219's not a bad road at all, kinda hilly, little crooked but not too bad. It's even paved now :D I don't see many coal buckets on it at all. Most of the truck traffic seems to be going to Johnsonville to the bratwurst factory. Either that or the paper mill in Johnsonburg.

I don't know how much it's changed ,I used to either go up rt.15 from Harrisburg to Corning,or sometimes 79 to Erie and across the thru way. Neither's really a bad way to go,but not really a good way.I used to consider Buffalo one of those places you can't get to from here, but going up 220,99,350,80,153,and 219 it's only a little over 500 miles. I used to like the part of rt.15 from Williamsport to Corning, that's beautiful country.

  9. Sounds like your having a interesting couple of days off. Never been a fan of chinese myself, I think it's because I couldn't identify some of the stuff myself.
    but it's good-and cheap!.."uh....what is this stuff anyway? no wait-don't tell me,I don't want to know!..good though"

" sauteed cicadas in garlic sauce with broccoli, with lightly smoked tenderloin of a calico". "@%&*# it!!!!-I said I didn't want to know!!!"

  10. Summertime is a fun time, except for working in it all the time. Maybe if I left now in my '52 ford I could make it to the truck show in time lol...I could meet up with Other dog and we could race up I-81. It would be like a J.B. Hunt & Schneider racing up a mountain, anyway I hope the show turns out good for you guys this year. Be good buddy

I can see the swift truck passing us on the shoulder now...

  11. well, Scott the friendly AC repairman just left. He said the freon was a little low,and he tightened the fittings outside that were pretty loose he said, and charged it with freon. I even signed a service agreement where they come out twice a year and clean, check, and service the heat and AC, once in the fall and again in the spring. Sounded pretty cheap to me at $130. Anyway,it's down to 88 degrees in here now,it was 93 inside a little while ago and 97 outside. I don't think I remember it ever being this hot this early in the year.

Still no word on the truck's status.

  12. I've seen more people hauling scrap lately,on every kind of thing, than I ever have. I can picture it now-a F-350 with two john deere tractors setting on top of a '68 Biscayne on top of a combine on top of two New Idea manure spreaders, topped off with a couple of Lawn Boy mowers... :D

  13. Shucks, everyone knows that a driver is dumber than a box of rocks. The fact that you have put every mile that it has on it, watching the guages, and listening to it run, make you a lot more qualified to say something is wrong. Now that they are having to actually repair the problem, I personally could not stand not rubbing their nose in it. Keep those cards and letters coming, I have missed hearing from you. James

Yeah, when I left the truck at Cat Friday I was prepared to tell them "we know there's nothing wrong with it,but Jeff wants to put a water pump on it anyway" but the mechanic came out and talked to me after I dropped the trailer and said he was gonna check for a blown head gasket. The "know it all ,probably college educated but never drove a truck in his life" sevice manager kept saying everything was fine. He's the same one who turned the engine up from a 475 to a 550 and said it was right, and there's absolutely no difference in it...none.

  14. NO DEFINITELY ( I SPEELLED THAT WRONG) NOT FAST LOOK AT IT THIS WAY I GOT THE TRUCK WHEN I WAS 12.... IM TURNIGN 21 IN TWO WEEKS. YUP AS FAST AS SPEEDING DONKEY!! LOL HEY AT LEAST WE GOT IT DONE. RIGHT

well,I was thinking about going to Macungie with my new BMT T-shirt and man purse and hitting on you,but you're a little too old for me...sorry. I'm off like a herd of turtles, see ya :D
