We got burned on that so many times we made a bung and pressure test every time we replace these gaskets Before its totally assembled! Not worth getting it all assembled to find you got a leak 1/2 hour before quitting time! Note! Most EGR coolers can Now be removed with out removing turbo ect. You can saw off 2-3 hours of work by jacking the front of the engine and moving the shock bracket out of the way! (MOST Models!) (Don't tell the warranty dept)

So I don't know how far you are along on this project but check out Amazon for your cable and bits for this project! Im currently working on an old dodge 12 valve hand throttle set up and found some use full stuff here for the project!

38 % is low ! Also Something to note ! Usually if your seeing soot out going the DPF is likely cracked Just had been our experience!

Bro ! The relief valve in the oil filter housing is a possibility ! Can't hurt to check all of these you obviously done everything else Bud ! I'm just going on my experience that never saw a rocker shaft plugs cause oil pressure to drop Just made the jakes not work! Again by all means you need to check it! Your positive you don't have oil dilution going on there? I didn't review your original post on the pressure issue but just asking? Oil samples taken? -

highly doubt its the plugs but worth a look I suppose! π¬ -
This is concerning! Shouldn't be any soot! Mack pro Has some very good points and way more experience than I, the dollar store sensors are likely part of the issue and Oxy may have the ticket also ( Turbo sticking ) ?Or HI issues ? Regen is Treating the symptom not the problem! From watching what went on at our shop you need to be checking your regen temps! Is it doing the full job correctly? If the turbo is sticking won't make heat! being a garbage packer they don't work hard they do a lot of idling the turbo is a soot collector of sorts! If you have ever run one of these with the exhaust disconnected you will see they do create soot every time you stomp on the pedal to go! hence Garbage truck how many stops and goes does it do a day ? LOTs ! Something to consider! again I am know expert in the field of DPF however! Just sayin!

I could Be wrong , how ever it Looks like the thru shaft sheath has turned some in the bore think that hole should be lower in the cup! You don"t normally see the oil threads from the side Could have happened during the over heat cycle! that tube feeds the power divider and front bearings ! That said this is a classic why you teach your people! A plug is either in and tight , or its out ! Nothing in between! It s the rules! same as the SHOP DOOR All the way UP or ALL the way Down., No in between! Its the Rules! Good luck with your claim In my mind they should own it! ! People make mistakes shit happens that's sometimes how they learn! -
yup anything is worth a look at this point.

The above issue happens to non deleted engines as well have seen 3 in my area drop a chunk of valve and take out a liner and piston! that said the extra heat from an improper delete won't help the situation! So Mac pro is indeed correct! All comes down to chance!

Sorry Limited experience on My part ! Suggestion ! This is a long shot And a bit of a parts Canon ! But have you tried replacing the set resume switch! If your using an extra set of switches at the crane end you may have issues there Conflicting signal to the ECU! That said ! It really sounds as thou the vehicle ECU has a glitch! It may have something to do with temperature change ! Not sure where the ECU is located on an MR but I believe its on the drivers side behind a kick panel ! The fact that the ECU is not seeing the brake switch is a concern! Try checking that function while its cool in the cab then when warm ! If it works then don't work with temperature change CAB heats up This may indicate you have an ecu issue! Just a thought!

Horses ass of a different color ! I to like the color ! Its still Volvo trash! One of my customers used to call his Volvos the Girly trucks ! Just repeating a statement ! Topics of this poster do not reflect the nature of the BMT web site we are an all inclusive group! π Sometimes!π And notice there is enough room below the compressor for that HPCR pump install an electric fuel pump and proper fuel pedestal good to go! Just sayin!

before I left we were having hI issues ! We were trying to convince customers to service the Air driers every year! Don't think it was helping! unfortunately in my opinion The AD9 is the best air drier out there (My opinion) however labor intensive to service! so your better off with the any one of the spin of filters wabco or bendix something quick and easy! The Volvomatic needs dry air as well so it makes sense to dry the air at the source! still cant hurt to install the VGT filter in the purge air line supply!

Possible ! had they left everything up front maybe the bull gear would have stayed tight! they were blaming that on the heated oil coming off the EGR Valve I believe! this engine has great potential if they would stop doing Band-Aids and changing stupid shit like hollow cams to save a few lbs weight! Redesign the head for a proper common rail system like MPRO said throw away that glorified turbo booster do dad mount a HPCR pump and air filter on the air purge same as we had on the vgt on the AC motor ! All would be right with the world ! Except its still! Volvo trash !π
