I believe that several contributing factors have caused the down size of Jamie's operation MONEY Yes . however he was setting hims self up to do the job right he was buying the right equipment to do the job( Eyes bigger than stomach however ) there is the competition thing to consider, the police Can't be perceived to be playing favorites so set up right or not they have to share the work or everyone else will snivel Quiring and the others have there place on the hill as well,so set up right or not they are there! As for new equipment U can't count on it!! you can rest assured the job will get finished with the older equipment for the most part , With the new stuff (Not so much) Trucks equipped with DEF are quite vulnerable to the environment you get halfway to the job and the def freezes the your now compromised to finish the job So in my opinion JDavis has made a decent move Monetarily And logically. Unfortunately He really needed the Rotator on the hill its a shame however there are older units out there he can likely have a rotator built install on a dependable unit. Just an opinion! 1

  3. All warranty will pay for a road test is .3 HR. Yup! Barely enough time to build air! and turn the signal on to get out the drive way! You can really prove lots in .3 of an hr!
  4. Bummer There was a campaign to pin that nut two years back that truck obviously got missed .the truck may have been in limbo or in between sales or simply overlooked . THE ( Avoidance Clause) , that would appear to be the case! Money for nothin , chicks for free! you get the last part of the warranty the both half part! You get to keep both broken pieces ! Bastards

  8. Usually turbos screw up when hot in our area egr valves rarely fail / Turbos have Higher Fail rate there likely on the right track! us
  9. no worries there !Volvo /mack sends the tools whether you need em or not and charges thru the ass for them / as for the manuals thats all on line there are no books . if you want a book you have to pay for that and there is good reason for that they keep moving the goal posts around ever changing DATA! The book would be out of date before you receive it!
  10. SEE I told ya! There is a 5 year 500,000 mile warranty on this repair And today"s date IS ? 5 yrs to the day likely ! Just how things go! If You bought after market warranty hopefully your laughing !
  11. SO Milkman what was the verdict or final repair if there was one ??? There have been a lot of unfinished or unresolved posts last month ! Kind of like to hear what people find for their fixes! Mostly newbies thou !
  12. YUP the trany out and the back of the engine off totally! In Frame thou! Unfortunately its very pricey it all depends on how much got ruined and what engine this was not confined to, the MP8 our competitor volvo dealer did an mp 10 here up in the great white north it cost 25000 + NO WARRANTY CAUSE THEY DID IT! On the 10 we had one on the m8 fail after warranty cause the nut broke at the bandaid pin and one that got missed on the PI campaign! sorry can't confirm a solid price however (you get the idea!) and everything costs more here cause of the dollar difference! Mackpro will likley be able to bring it in to a closer price range when he sees this post!

  16. Ya Glenn I hear ya I Don't like takin on this shit, how ever my manager is of the mind that. God hates a Coward ! Its bad enough dealing with Volvo Mack on warranty Items! We asked the owner if He would reconsider the egr transformation ask I think that when cummins Sees this head warranty will be a laugh in the face ! all six were cracked turned into a true shower head! all the cracks radiate out from the injector holes in all sorts of directions .

Unfortunately in this instance and in most instances These days the computer has slowed everything down it heeds time to update it needs time to think! so you don't get the chance to run back and forth just stand and watch! You supervise it ,so it can supervise you! Let us know what computer finds!

  19. Yup thanx for the site Hayseed! It does shed light on the situation a lot of his statements hold truth ! and each system design presents its own hertles for engineers ! THE venturi tube has been redesigned countless times on the MP8 they are still struggling to make it work properly! He is also correct that the Truck company s tend to keep things to them selves they really work hard on Captivating Everything! I am suspicious of the programing the guy got done here to delete this stuff as every cyl is cracked did they tweak the timing . did they tweak the turbo and so on if they just went in and told the putor to not throw a code for egr flow and washed their hands then this Is very likely the end result! I think we all have messed with this stuff a bit tried this and that I know Mack pro And I have for a fact on the grey engine It never amounted to as big a mess as this to my knowledge! In fact I had a customer that had a million on a 460 that saw my be 6 months of EGR and the truck Never faltered once ! no egr coolers failed no valves nothing! This here is volatile ! If the head is going to turn into a shower head every 1000 hours its going to be an expensive tune up every 1000 hours! i think this guy needs to rethink his direction.

  21. Don't know how many of you have these trucks CL700 with cummins isx However ! We have a fair few in my area after the death of the V8 ! the one we have in the shop now we rebuilt approx 1000 hours on the build and we are working on the second reman head that has cracked is there any one here had experiences with these and any thoughts on WHY! other than it being a cummins ! WHY Are these heads cracking the cracks are at the injector holes out and between the valves! the EGR Has been Deleted dont know if this is causing too much heat ? Should we be replacing the injectors? are we setting the injector to tight? JUST seeking input! Experiences Please!! If any! Thanx
