!999 Mack Vision, How good is the E7 427
Mackdaddy2030 replied to Sweat6116's topic in Engine and Transmission
Looks like a really nice truck. I have a '98 CH with E7 427. Been really good to me. I've had it for 6 years and only really problem was I put head gasket in a year ago. They say that's one of the best engines made by Mack.- 11 replies

I think the Freightliners are only for the containers. I remember about three years ago DOT was out at 53 and Laraway in Joliet and they got three of the Marina drivers. Not only did they not have drivers license, but I guess they didn't have green cards either. Idk how a company like that would even hire drivers like that. -

Thank you very much. I would love to paint it dark blue sometime, but will prob just keep it white. Trying to decide how to do my lettering. Kinda bored with what I have had on all my other trucks. And your truck is beautiful!!!!!! I'd love to see more pics and video!!!! I'm sure I'll start getting use to the new truck. All this emmisions and electronic stuff still scares. I know im gonna regret selling my '98 CH, but I can always get another older truck if I want to. -
thoughts on 08 and 09 pinnacle
Mackdaddy2030 replied to cxn613's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
I was told to stay away from '08-'10. Heard the just DPF trucks had lots of problems and to go newer with ones that have urea. I know the one construction company in my are has a bunch of '08-'09 Granites that they were trying to fit rid of, but no one wanted to take them in on trade. -
I'm guessing it's US gallons, cause I know they were talking about Tyson Foods trucks on the one thread.

Was over at Zimmerman's in DeKalb today and saw this R model. I guess they use to use it for sealcoating. Look at all that tar on the camelback. And the crossmembers are rotting out. Talked to old man Zimmerman and her said it fires up and runs good. They might take the motor out and put it in the DM rolloff. I wanted to get a picture of the Superdog, but it was inside the other shop and no one was in there. -

Oh ya. I've know Jimmy a long time. Haven't seen him since about Dec. I didn't know where he got that truck from. There are a boat load of Marina trucks hauling contaminated dirt int Waste Management across from where we get the fertalizer in Joliet. And you see a ton of them pulling containers also. I've heard he is connected, if you know what I mean, lol. I use to see his street sweeper and one dump on the highways in Chicago at night when I was hauling flatbed the one summer. -
That's what I wad thinking. Less then .5 mpg. I see guys post on here that they are hearing guys pulling van trailers with MP8 and Mdrive getting 8mpg. I figure they are the full aero package, but I still don't believe it. I would think you would get better Storkmack pulling a skateboard. I was getting high 5's to low 6's pulling the tank in the fall with the new truck. Which I still can't believe my old CH with 4.17's got better mpg.

Saw this heavy spec R model today at the Milan Township building in Dekalb County. Think they might be selling it. The stickers look freshly taken off. -

Does anyone know what the difference in fuel milage is between a Pinnacle CHU and CXU? Just wondering how much you lose with the square front of a CHU.

I would love to get my hands on that B model. Just crazy that they still use it. I actually stopped by their yard in December and asked if I could take some pics, but the person in charge wasn't there and they said they would call me back. I even told the office girl that I'm a Rossi also, thinking that might help. I never heard back. Lol -

You don't have to convince me. I need that truck, lol Though I still wish I could have bought one of these combo units that was for sale about two years ago. I don't know, maybe I'm just a little partial to the name. Lol
