  1. Some Super Aggregate trucks were hauling sand into the plant today. I always thought these trucks looked sharp.
  2. These are some Curran trucks at the DeKalb yard. Couple dumps, oil truck and lowboy
  3. The first pic was taken by Rob Martin That is him, AKA Snake, and Jimmy Stewart, AKA Chili Dog, milling the parking lot at Farm & Fleet in Sycamore. Snake has the red and white '80 R Model The second pic I was barley able to capture while I was driving on the job site on I90. I know it's not a Mack, but who doesn't love the wiener truck?
  4. I know this is not Chicago, or even USA, but thought it was pretty good looking. I love how the trailer matches the truck. Even with the stripes.
  5. Saw some Starks pulling dump wagons on Peace today. I'm assuming they were hauling into Curran. Though I didn't get to see much action that was going on at the plant. I was in Waterman following the patch crew. 5hrs for one load. Lol And idk why the pictures are posting sideways. I even tried rotating them to compensate for it and it posts them the same way
  6. I'll have to have someone show me how to do it on the computer.
  7. Price does matter, but it also depends on what type of mix they are making. It's crazy all the different variations there are and they use all different types of aggregate to make them. And I know DeKalb's chips were not passing inspection. I don't think we have hauled any chips out of Dekalb since Vulcan took over.
  8. I don't know why those last ones are sideways. Tell me what I'm doing wrong. These next ones are the Ozinga/old Meyers trucks out on I90 today.
  9. Ok, I had a lot of cool stuff to take pictures of today. Though I have to get better at taking pictures while driving. 1st one is Don Taylor Excavating R model 6 wheeler. I was getting loaded under the silo while he drove by. 2nd one is Snake with his '80 R model with the T800 grill. And no, there isn't anything wrong with the back of his trailer. That's just a bug on my windshield 3rd one I think was a Christiansen RD pulling flat bed. I couldn't read the name. 4th was a Superdog that was hauling into Curran today. Never seen it before and don't remember what it said on the door.
  10. Thanks for the help. Now I just have to figure out how to do those crazy characters lol
  11. I heard we are paving out there in the fall. I guess a turn lane and parking lot. Like 20,000 ton of mix going out there.
  12. Lol They have been doing a better job this year. Last year they were holding us up big time and that's one reason we were so far behind. And Storkmack, you were at Geskes back in the day when they actually had diesel fuel at the spray rack, lol
  13. This is my first time posting pics. I don't know why the one is sideways. This is K Five's water truck on Currans section of I90
  14. That's awesome you found the brochure. I didn't realize the truck was in that bad of shape or that it was sold again. I was hoping to see it restored. I was talking to my friend today and he said that Glaze Construction bought it after it was on the tour and then Geske bought it from them.
  15. You are still one step better then me on this technology, lol I need to figure out how to post pictures on this page. Maybe someone can walk me through it some time. I have many pictures I could post but not sure how to. The only way I know how to post pictures is like on Facebook cause I use my phone and it just lets you use what you have in your camera roll. Is there a way I can do that on here?
  16. I was thinking that Volvo should rebadge their articulating trucks as Mack's. Since Mack had such a history of off road trucking I figured it would be a great idea. I think they would maybe get more companies to buy them then and drivers might take more pride in driving them.
  17. Does anyone know who did the hauling of the dirt into and out of the Rosemont Horizon for the truck pulls and monster truck shows? I was having a discussion on another website and we were trying to figure out who did.
  18. I bet this is the truck. That is so awesome you found this!!!!!!
  19. I love the looks of the Wawa truck
  20. I was talking to my friends uncle this weekend that has been the mechanic at Geske's for a long time. I remembered him telling me awhile ago that they had a R model truck that they cut the back half off and it use to run the plant. He said it was a special edition that they only made about four of to go on the show circuit. He couldn't remember the year but thought it was a '73. It was used to go to shows to promote the new 300. It was gold in color and I guess the trucks had a special hood scoop. They have recently sold that truck, but don't worry,, it is in good hands. I guess Greibels bought it so I think they will prob restore it the way it should be.
  21. That stinks. I'm gonna head up there tomorrow night with one of my friends. He's gonna bring one of his Allis up there. Have you ever seen that First Gear dicast of the Allis lettered B model with Lowboy? Very expensive. I saw some of your mixers running through Dekalb on 23 couple days ago
  22. When I start hauling fertilizer I'll be in Joliet three times a day so I'll try and keep my eye out for the R and RD "D" trucks.
  23. I think TKT is some kind of offshoot of "D" As for the gross on our shortys, I think it's like 68,000 if you don't have the SHV, special haul vehicle. That SHV legally gets you to 72,000, but pits let you out up to 73,280 and most cops usually let you by with that.
  24. Storkmack, are you going to the antique tractor show up at Union Grove this weekend? I guess Allis Chalmers is the special attraction this year.
  25. I saw that Cedarvalley truck today on Peace Rd. To me it looked like a needle nose Pete, but now that I see the picture I guess I was wrong lol
