  3. HA freind of mine was just telling me about his freind that took his diesel pick up into a small shop for a tune up. They charged him 900 doolars for the repairs and showed him laying in the bed of the truck his old dist cap and plug wires.And said the spark plugs look good.

  6. The only way is pull cover and replace shims or coat them with a sealer. When you get them oyut you will find its is leaking where the rust has got to them.
  7. For the fun of it check the crank shaft end play. Easy to do. Pry the front pulley forward and then backwards.About 15 to .020 if specs.
  8. If he dranks and drives a truck then he is used to walking.Some of us worked out of town a few weeks ago. One driver and not his own truck got drunk at the motel on some else money and at midnight got in the truck and started to pop wheeles in the parking lot.This is a ex driver now.

  12. Pistons will be different and i think also the no turbo engine had a timing advance called sachrovance.
  13. The standard seal is same size as a 855 cummins but dont know about the wear sleeve.I have used cummins seals on mack engines when using a standard seal.

  15. Some of the older bendix compressors will not take the adapter and i cannt remenber if it is only the 500 or it includes the 501 also.

  19. Just yesterday there was one on there and your right its gone. There has been one on there for two years and now that some one needs it its gone.I need one also but i use one that KW dealer has here when i need one.
  20. Back in the mid sixtys we did turbo many trying to get the smoke down and some more power. Just dont turn fuel up more than two threads.Take out the smoke screw in the nose of the rack cam and remove the synchrovance which is a timing advance and install a direck drive and time to a ENDT673.Use a turbo and manifold from a early 237 maxidyne.Or if you can find a ENDT 205 turbo.The engines was turboed from factory from as early as 1959 that i know and many turbos then was water cooled.It may need a larger air cleaner.The end 475 and 465 i have seen but dont remenber much about them now.
  21. If you had it put in by some one then take it back. But to start with i can tell you there is many things to check. First check full throdle on the linkage and go from there and check the fuel pressure and then on to the fuel pump timing and then check the air /air cooler and piping with the piping connected to the engine with 25 psi.If the cam timing is in dought then get a shop manual and there will be a way in there telling you how to check the cam timing.On that engine you have a air line fron the intake manifold over to the top of the governor connecting to the AFC so make sure its is connected and that is on a P7100 or 8600 pump only. The amco pump will have a puff limiter on the front with a line connecting it to a reversing relay on the intake so check that line outy.
  22. I would put dye in fuel and run it for a few min under a load a then pull covers and black light the injectors for fuel.
  23. Be carefull in your thinking cause you may need more HP for speed.
