  1. Me and my self would use the quad untill it had to be changed and that may be a long time but that depends on how it is used. The engine will be mounted in the same place which ever trans is used. That is what i would do and the quaw dont even have to be pulled out unless it needs work done on it. Then he can use the b model flywheel and housing and clutch and linkage . glenn
  2. Yes you can use the 6 speed and i would not drill another hole in the frame back there but would build to fit the frame brackets to fit the r mondel trans mounts and you frame will last longer. You will use the old engine front cover damper and pulley and hub with the b model water pump. If you use the 6speed trhe you will have to make a reverse pull type clutch linkeage which i done in a b61 . glenn
  3. The only way you can abuse that truck is to drain the oil and coolant and run it down the road . It looks like a dm and may have a 20000lb front and 44000lb back axle with a 6 speed low hole mud trans and a maxidyne engine and you cant get any better for a dump truck. glenn
  4. I will be here Rob but call me when you get here 918 520 6581 glenn
  5. You can still get parts for that i have one on my B61 but many times it is the purge vavle hanging open and you can get a kit for it or exchange the conplete unit.but if i was going to change it out i would go th a ad9 and i was wronge that is not a ad4 probley ad2 like has been talked about. My cltch is slipping some times.. glenn
  6. how about a ad4 glenn
  7. Todd i have a old R model that you can have parts off of all but the headliner for the taking off of them. glenn
  8. welcom Todd i live not far from you ilive south of Bixby and worked for Perry 65 -68 and have worked on trucks up until 2 years ago and now i have slowed down and run the road which is much more easy for me than working on them. glenn akers
  9. Why not i am for willie or some one that will listen to the people . glenn
  10. Is this a luberfiner brand name or is this a mack full flow oil filter because it makes adifference and if a luber fine is the oring square or is it oval round ?Old engine used a 500 luber finer with 2 small lines to the bottom maybe #6 and the mack full flow used 1 #6 hose and 2 # 16 hoses glenn
  11. I sorry but i cant help you on the ad sp i know what it is but have never wored on it but if the dier is draining the wet tank it sounds like the deir is defective. glenn
  12. If it drains the air tank down till the governor kicks back in and it is a ad4 or a ad9 bendix you have a check valve in the drier draining the 1st tank back in to the drier and out of the purge valve. The ad 4 has a plastic flapper for a check valve inside and you have to tear down to replace and the ad9 will have a screw in check valve on the bottom on the inlet port of the dier and can be changed from the bottom. glenn
  13. Where does the air leak fromand what kind of drier is it? glenn
  14. The 200 degree temp on the oil is ok because it will be 15 to 20 degress above your coolant temp and the hot fuel in the tank is normal because you have so much fuel that returns form the fuel system to the tank that at the end of the day it will fill hot and you cant tell by your hand if it is 110 degress 0r 160 degress because both feel hot to your hand and the ecm compensates for hot fuel to keep the horse power the same. you need to get some one to read the codes for the chech engine light and the you can trouble shoot the problem form there . glenn
  15. I have being able to get after market parts for those older engines but maybe not in the last 7 years and you may want to ask for a cylinder kit instead of a liner kit. The last one i built i used a endt675 crank and rods and used the maxidyn kit because they will seal a head gasket better. glenn
  16. I think they are a different metal and a grade 8 bolt will stretch under heat and i know they will rust real fast and deteirate from the heat . cummins bolts are the samr way i have tried to use grade 8 bolts in cunnine exhaust and it what stay. glenn
  17. Ok i will try this again but if you try to drill those old bolts dont try putting heat on them because that only makes them harder and remember if a bolt is hard to get out when it has a head on it just think how hard it is ti remove with out a head so when you start to lossen bolt just tey to work back and forth for a while and get the inpack off of it and when you drill it keep in the center of the bolt and you may get out glenn
  18. I know what you feel i have being there and try not to let it bother me because you have to remember that he will pay for it some time and when the lord get thru with him he is going to wish he could look you up and make things right . Just think about that me and you have some one watching over us . glenn
  19. Herb is right on what he told you .I worked for mack in the 60s and i remember those days good just cant remember what i did this moring.I always used 32 qts if filter was on the block and if on frame add another qt. The way to check your stick calibrtation is drain pan and add 16 qts to dry pan and make low mark and add 4 more qts and make hi mark then when that is done dump the rest into filter top and i would always bleed the filter at the fill plug while engine is running the check. The filter # is 236gb340. If you ever have that filter can of do not revere the oil lines or you will need new engine. glenn
  20. I saw some cement mixers in the mid 60s with the 475 scanis the first engine that i ever saw with the centifuge oil filter and that little baby mack engine 465 i guess it always whanted to be a real engine when it growed up and some of the mixers had a 3208 with allison and a 3 speed spicer behind that .I dont remember if the 465 or 475 were turboed or not. that is the last ones i have seen. glenn
  21. That is the best way then you have no stress on the splice. There is no stress behind the trunnion stand on a mack except the weight of the tail lights.I have did this before and end up using mild stell to roll the frame reils and works good. glenn
  22. It is ok to scratch a gear one time but not two times but if in doult about it i can tell you that all trans have magnets in them just for new driver to scratch gears. If it is a play truck you will never need to change the grease. glenn
  23. Are you asking for a wire diagram or what? glenn
  24. Sounds like you have a brake that has camed over and you need or i would put new shoes on both front wheels and make sure your drums are good because i have seen many front drums used that was scored bad and now they have brake problems so to me you dont take short cuts with front brakes. glenn
