  1. I got to thinking about people being scammed and I remembered a couple of summers ago a guy who is married to a friend of my wifes stopped by.He has never been to my house before and obviousily will never be back. He makes his living hauling scrap I guess with his piece of shit pickup truck he said he had a oil furnace tank given to him and it was full he offerd me the oil out of it no charge. He told me if I didn't take it he was just going to pour it out on a back road. I guess in his wisdom he didn't realize the oil was worth alot more than the scrap value of the tank.He had about 20 gallons of oil in pails I poured it in my furnace and gave him $40 cash great deal for me he asked if I had any containers he would come back with the rest I gave him two 5 gallon fuel containers HE NEVER CAME BACK.I laugh about this now and I even see him from time to time he ignores me.I mentioned it to the guys at the scrap yard he deals with over a few beers one night they got a good laugh and mentioned a few stories of there own about him too.I know this is no wheres near the scale of rippoff others have endured but maybe will bring a laugh.Still living still learning
  2. sad to hear those scam stories.I hope they all get theres in the end and if they do please tell us.I figure Superdog will find those guys some day you should be able to spot there equipment. It sucks when the honest people are shunned when looking at a truck or piece of equipment sitting around and the owners are leary of us.
  3. I am not sure what a set of cameras are worth but remember you may get them on film but the time you watch it your stuff may be long gone and if they do get in trouble with the law you will probably be madder about the outcome than your original problem.I was told by a security guy once your best alarm is a dog.I don't know if thats possible but you could also hide a board with spikes in the snow in the driveway it may at least make them think twice about coming back.
  4. if you decide to go through with it the hard work will be worth it you will definetely stand out. Check out last months ATHS Wheels of Time magazine theres a landscape outfit with all antique iron

  10. I hate to report this but Waylon Dorner the man who is pictured with his father next to Waylons Mack passed away at the end of last year.I don't know of what cause I read it in the GREAT LAKES TRUCK CLUB newsletter.I will try to scan the article at a later date for anyone who is interested in the story.I never met the man but I have seen his classic iron at some truck events here in Ontario. He left quite a legacy behind.
  11. I was thinking I have a friend that mainly runs South so I can probably arrange some kind of delivery.
  12. I agree if mods are done in good taste I'm all for it.I have been working on my R model at a friends shop who has a couple of Petes. It's funny the non old truck owners think the more chrome the better I have kept it tasteful in my opinion with minimal extra lights only 4 extra per side under the bunk and a factory MACK chrome bumper.I have said before you can ruin the look if you go overboard.
  13. I have 2 sets of 24.5 both hub and stud pilot I would sell I'm located about 1 hr past the Peace Bridge in Ontario if you are stuck for some.
  14. If anyone is still looking for a R model cab Tallman Transport in Welland Ontario Canada has a brand new never installed R model cab still in the crate for sale I think they are asking $3500 for it.They can be reached @ 905-735-1410 ext 2227
  15. i saw advertisement in a old Overdrive mag where Mack used to sell R Model cabs and hoods to convert your B in to a R.Kind of like a reverse glider kit.It is not impossible to do but will probably make you have to think a bit and a little fabricating.
