This is my job, collector cars. What many don't realize is that the story is what brings the price so high. When is the next time you will ever get to buy a 58 Cameo pick up NEVER SOLD NEW still on MSO with under 5 mikes on it? Never. Most of these low mileage cars are going to museums and collections and most likely the dust will never be washed off. The big thing now is "barn finds" in as found state. Once you do any repair on these cars to fix the damage, the originality, history, and story is gone. If there was an old Mack dealer with original b61s and b81s, R models and Superliners with no miles laying around, we would all scramble with fat checks in hand to be the first owners of them. Nothing different about this auction. I agree the prices paid are ridiculous but again, a situation like this is not going to happen again.

Ron, At least I'll still be able to show my face. I was going to leave at 6 am to get out there by 8:30 and have my wife take the cat but she wanted to go to the show also. So we'll have to leave around 10pm. I'll do my best to make the picture but unless my Ram has warp drive I don't think I'd make it by noon.

Well it's official the General is not making it. It's still at the shop and theres not enough time to get it back and give it a few test runs. Plus we have to get a blood test done on our cat whos getting chemotheropy on Sat morning so we won't get to the show until around 1 so I am also missing the group picture. Months of planning fall apart in a matter of a couple days.

Thanks. I found the models and a couple HO scale ones. I was hoping for something else. That rollback model is perfect. I already spoke with a shop about doing a 30' Kilar rollback deck on the General. $20,000 for the conversion. I'd love to do it but well out of my price at this time. I can buy a HD rollback complete for less than the conversion.

I say this all the time. If you are serious, just email the seller and say what will it take to buy it today. People do that to me all the time at work. They say "I'll wait until the end of the auction" I tell them buy it now. Then when we end the auction early because we got what we need, the other guy gets mad. Cash talks and bullshit walks. Even better are the morons that email and say "are you going to relist it?" I tell them if you are a serious buyer call me today and let's make a deal. 100% of the time they never call.

So with the Govt on shut down, things are actually going go smoother now right?

Just remember it does NOT have a title. Remember what you had to go through with your trailer you had. I have a title guy who can get one for you but its $600. Just take that into account.

Darn cool Dodge. There was a tandem dump for sale by me not that long ago for $4,000. Very tempting but I'm still working on the General.

I am getting concerned. I was supposed to get the General back last Friday. Its now week later and still no word on the status. I left a message today so hopefully someone will call me back. I'll be VERY pissed if I am unable to drive her out next weekend.

That's a friggen sweet rig. Every year Convoy was on the TV. It was a special thing. I watched it every time on my black and white in my bedroom. First time I had seen it in color I was like wow, even better. Love that movie.
