Mine is a 99 year model with the proprietary axle ends I'm pretty sure after your explanation of difference. I'm almost sure mine has fine spline axles also

There's a thread on here about waking up those AI engines I think it's called Dead Dog Redemption on engine and transmission section it's probably a ways back. Not been much activity on it since the moderators on here seemed to of kicked the major contributors off the site.

A 17.5 wheel can be put in place of 15 inch it would be same situation as replacing 20 inch rims with 22.5's -

Did they change the hood on the Pinnacle or just the grill? -
Look on top of filter housing not sure if that's where it's at on an AC engine but that's where it's located on earlier etechs

I believe I know what you're talking about on the firewall. Been driving these CH's for over 20 years first time I've needed to work on that part of truck
