B modeel Mack Difference ?

Heyfield Vintage Machinery Rally 

Bit over 2 hours for me ...... 200 kilometers east of Melboure Victoria Australia

Q:? Whats the difference between a Mack B61 & a B633 ?

Swish, IDK!! But does the extra 3 indicate a V8 engine????

besides theV-8 , basic 61's had 47,459 produced ('53=66). the B633 small number production of 486 ('56=58).

Beautiful trucks thanks for the picture and yes, I don’t have any idea. It might be an Australian thing the thing I get, I know almost nothing about a B model

Somebody on here posted tons of build sheets a while back I think it was double clutching weasel, but I’m not sure

i always thought the "3" was for cummins engine, just like the "5" was for V8

Well, according to Google, it’s built for heavy applications and it mainly just has a heavier frame and ordinarily use the END 673 with a 10 speed duplex

total agree. the 15  (615/ R615 etc usually designated a V8). not updated on the B's having Cummins = still having a B6-??? Cummins on a number of occasions brought the model to  a B7????. back then little attention was paid to the model designation . it was a B / R / U / whatever.  attention to the unit and drivetrain NOT what specific model it was called.

I remember as a kid back in Illinois Meyer Materials Had B-63's and they had the 205 HP turbo 673's. I am not sure what the extra 3 is for on the B-633.

this topic brings me back to the Waterbury Mack  change over when the janitor had large box full of  Mack brochures going to dumpster, the pamphlets a buyer would take having different models with specifications. I know there was  different models of the B's. I saved a few ==not enough. would have had in print the difference between a B61 VS B633.

You answered your own question, the extra 3 was a factory turbo engine.  terry
