18k front axle

Looking at a 1985 RD686SX that is advertised as having a 18k front axle but only has 3 leaf springs with a 3” spacer block between the axle and springs. Is the 3 leaf springs correct for the 18k axle and if it is can a multi leaf spring stack be installed by removing the spacers for added stability? Using it as a log truck. Thx
