Friday night in the garage.

The pan is on.

Geez that was a PITA, sorta.  Lost a front big bolt, got all the rest in and the two fronts would not start.  Had to bang the pan around and they finally started.  Had to jerry rig the one bolt until I buy another but at least it is torqued down to set the RTV.

Went ahead and bolted flywheel on.

I wire wheeled the lugs and they are pretty straight yet so I won't be screwing with them.  Just will make sure new clutch plate floats good.

Did get the compressor bolted on last week.

And a new coolant line made.

I will be cleaning up the injection pump and get it bolted on next.  I can now clean up the corners of the block and wash it up for paint.

Baby steps.

I know now that the new rear seal is in, the crank is WAY harder to spin.  Wow, that tightened things up.

No, the three injectors have not come out yet.

Larry looking good it looks like the air compressor has a place for a power steering pump on the original 673 in my Mack I put on an air compressor like yours and added a pump it was a job and a half if I remember correctly, it involved me using my one lathe and milling machine and a lot of figuring. So far you gained over 40 hp. on me that should pull your race car very well that same engine was in a Mack cabover that I would pull 100,000 plus gross of bedding for riprap in a steel dump trailer. I wish I went through the aggravation of getting a twin disc clutch but the triplex was set up for a single and I'm usually only hauling a nine-hundred-pound bale of hay for my goats.
