I just don't see it fitting in with what the current Anthem is doing. I just can't picture that thing with wide base steer tires pulling live bottoms, dump trailers, and floats.

Not to mention my other gripe.....if I wanted a Volvo, I would just buy a Volvo.

They have a new feature on the Mack web site where you can split between the old and new Anthem, so you can see how much better the old one looked, LOL

Yes the old Anthem looks better but the new Anthem interior is improved IMO. Like the looks of the Mayflower cab. Volvo bought Mayflower are they going to make new cabs at this facility?

The Cummins L10 is to replace the Cummins L9 and the X12. Looks like a lot of power from a small pony. So Mack is offering Cummins L7 in the MD, L10 in the Anthem, Cummins Natural Gas in the Cab overs. I wonder if the new Cummins Gas engine will be an option?

With plain jane flat plastic panels and no gauges. Except for the stupid looking cyclops speedo/tach that I absolutely hated in the International HX and Cat trucks. No styling whatsoever. But like you say, don't need that anyway. New breed wouldn't know how to read gauges anyway. They just need their tablets, laptops and headsets mounted somewhere so they can telemarket call while going down the highway.

From what I’m hearing MD will keep the mayflower and they extended it somewhat…. Granite not sure

Ya, I know. Isn't it sad how everything we know about trucking no longer applies, LOL

Remember the days you could diagnose any problem just buy looking at your boost, pyrometer, oil temp and air and fuel restriction gauges. I miss those days.

What Mack should have done with the MD is offer an extended or crew cab. Something with a back seat to compete with the others for the RV hauler applications.

Especially now considering here in Canada, an new loaded Superduty pickup truck is $120,000.

Better off to just buy a medium duty to pull your trailers. Not much more, easier to service and will last a whole lot longer.

Well, all in all I’m glad I’m done. Most of the good days are gone. If not all of them around here I was about sick to death of driving once we lost all the CB chatter three or four years ago. Now that I am retired I really don’t like to drive anything anywhere. I cry about driving to the gym three times a week 5 miles away.

Same here. I drive my pickup twice a week and that's enough for me. Driven enough for my lifetime. LOL

Yes sir I don’t know man I’m just way burned out and right here. We’ve got way too much traffic too many stupid people and and way  too many   traffic lights.

It's. So. Ugly. With how smushed the nose is, any kind of engine work will require disassembling the cab and dog box just to start. My techs already hate working on VNR's for the same reason.

 Agree with you Heinz. The new Anthem/Volvo BBC is taking us back to the days of the 90 in BBC B-67 and White 9000 TD. Their is no over riding reason for this new BBC shortening. There was a reason for short BBC's back in the 60's and 70's (Government length limits). This is just insanity jamming all of this machinery into a short hood when its not necessary.  Eventually truck purchasers are going to opt for more room under the hood and in the cab. A point to consider  is that Mack does not have the BBC options  as does its competition with either the Anthem or Pioneer. Hopefully the new down the road Pinnacle/Granite will address this issue, or expansion of the Anthem Pioneer BBC options. Blah Blah Blah Ramble Ramble!
