Maybe a truck pull front weight box???  You know, with the rollers on it????🤔

Sounds legit. I'm not an engineer but I don't see why that wouldn't work. I have an old lawn mower out back that you can the wheels off of if you want them.

When we pulled garden tractors we always loaded up the beak to keep the nose on the ground. That way you maintained the 12" hitch height to pull down on the drive tires. The trick was as to how much weight you hung out out there to get it to float the front axle just off the ground.

I've seen that 20+ yrs ago at local track.  Likely a newer version driven by Bill.

Do you know this car? Bob Brinkman's Vette. (SpongeBob). It was never a street car, left GM and went right to Doug Nash's shop. He Likes to launch hard. Somewhere I have a picture of him doing a good wheel stand, but I can't find it. I used to date his sister. I'm thinking he's like 70 now

Don't know the name or car.  Badass looking for sure.

Three pedals makes any car badass though!

Yeah it was a badass car. Last I saw him he was getting a split window and building another. He ran a petroleum testing lab. His father was a brilliant guy, he was a pipefitter and job superintendent on big refinery jobs in jersey. One time his sister and I were riding past the HESS building and she says "Oh they are such nice people, they pay for all my horses"

Any higher and you'll need to cut a hole in the floor to see where your going! lol    .....Hippy

actually a hole in floor was common back then for the wheel standers. not the little red wagon . one of the funny cars back then had the driver further back ;a hole (window) through the floor was needed for him to  see. another thing from early days before computers. was more exciting to watch a vehicle -that resembled cars of the day go 150 mph operated by man then todays 300mph aerodynamic plastic cars run basically by computer.

Joe,

The car is powered by a 496ci 427 FE, aftermarket block, Trick Flow alum heads, Weiand Cleveland Tunnel ram on a newly repopped adapter that makes Cleveland intakes fit an FE.

Has a Liberty Equalizer 5 spd(same trans Pro Stock runs today)

IMG_20220116_153338466.jpg

A 9" rear with 4.56 gears and 35 spline axles.

Mickey Thompson 29.5x10.5 stiff sidewall slicks.

Best 10.16@130 mph.  1.34 60ft.

I started running it in 1995, with just a 428CJ, tunnel wedge 2x4, toploader and it went 13.0s.  That same combo is now back in my 69F100 as it started as my first hot rod.

I'd love to try one of these Lencos. I'm a chevy guy though. Back in the day I was a mopar guy with a 440 roadrunner, but I got into the small blocks when I realized how much less money I had to spend. Itching to build an LS with a lenco. I've got a nice clean 88 S10 2 wheel drive Blazer I want to put it in. My first plan was a 400 block, with something like a 327 crank. I even thought about a 3.1 inch 262 crank, but I think I can get more bang for my buck out of an LS

Lencos are okay, but for a light, lower power car they rob too much power.

Btw, I know the Willy's, he's local to me.  SLER racing is four friends, using first letter of last name for SLER.  Stump, ?, Ellison, Rodenhaven.  The "L" has the Willy's.  If CRS was so bad these days I would remember his name.  Been racing with them for 20+ yrs.

If you look at their channel from last fall, I was running Scott Stump's Comet.  Scott has been loosing his eyesight and is legally blind now.  He wants me to run his comet.  272ci (300 six), Doug Nash.  I got it going hi 10, and still more in it.  I'm 100# lighter, he only got lo 11 from it.

Considering that they are just 3 planetarys hooked together?  I would assume they would have more losses then a gear transmission.  There is no converter slip, but still has a pump in each, etc.  My opinion, they are for 1000+ HP cars.  We have a few running with our stick group.  To each their own.

I'm sure you can pick them up cheaper then a Liberty?  Mine was $9500 brand new.  But it is the most bad ass transmission you can buy(My .02).
