I could've atleast convinced it to get outta my way instead of having to sit beside the highway waiting on my Mechanic for an hour or so. He did great, and I was going to hire him and put him in a truck as soon as we got back to the yard. A piece of steel fell of a scrap hauler in front of us and there was no way of avoiding it without hitting someone. I caught the passenger rear outside rear 12/24 and popped it like a balloon, with "gator" taking off the mudflap AND tailgate latch. He pulled over, said now I remember why I quit driving, and walked to a phone booth to call his wife to come get him. 3 Quote when you are up to your armpits in alligators, it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp.. davehummell Posted October 7, 2022 Share Posted October 7, 2022 My company opened a new yard and I got stuck road testing drivers, the owner was pushing for a guy that had a collage education I took him down to turn the truck around and he couldn't back the triaxle in a 20 ft. wide driveway. I let him head out on the main road and he couldn't shift the truck 8 speed. We limped down to the light and I got behind the wheel and drove it back.
