Microfiche Scanner

I have many parts manuals on microfiche and would like to get them converted to Adobe PDF. Hopefully these can be converted inexpensively. Does anyone know of a scanning service or a machine that will convert them? Searching the interweb I found fiche printers but no scanners.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have many parts manuals that are on microfiche. I been able to locate/obtain paper copies/PDFs of most farm equipment OEs and most MOPAR vehicles but locating paper copies/PDFs of late model GM vehicles is difficult. Currently I am trying to locate a genuine GM parts manual (paper or PDF) for a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix and can only find microfiche. I prefer PDFs which allow me to print specific pages. I been watching eBay but nothing listed. Going to Spring Carlisle later this week and will look there.

I was going to suggest a library since that's the only place I ever heard the word "microfiche". In fact, I think the last time I heard it was in the same sentence as "card catalog".

The first time I recall hearing of it was right here, about 6:57 PM yesterday.

Ken, I had to do this for a series of plans when I was working. There are , or were, companies that specialize in moving microfiche film to a digitized format. I think your best bet would be to contact the state's archivist office or maybe the Library of Congress to ask what they do or what resources they are aware of.

Money, sex, and fire; everybody thinks everyone else is getting more than they are!
