Somewhere on the .net there used to be a site where a Swiss trucker posted all his pic's from years of running from Europe all over the middle-east and even one trip to Pakistan via the Kiber pass (sp?). Almost all done in K100 KW with Detroit 2 stroke power.  1000's of pictures and stories to go with. I had it bookmarked on an old computer but somehow it got lost?

All in the days of real film, so much harder than today with digital photo's

I don't know if it is still all out there in cyber-land somewhere.

i was sitting at a traffic light in sparks around 20 years ago and a T100 pulled up to the light ,with a green oil dripper even back then i was surprized to see one still working let alone equipped with that engine,,,got the light red and was able to listen to it shifting off,,,,bob

30 years ago I was in my sleeper in the old "Boomtown" waiting for morning to pull an O/D load over the hill to Lodi. I heard a 6-71 jaking down the hill, and pull in next to me, an old rounded nose Freightliner, mid 60's.

excellent not sure if you knew this  but a while back, boomtown took out most of thier truck parking and put a cabellas there,,,,  around 12 years ago i was taking off my tire chains in baxter and i heard an air starter somewhere around me ,,had no idea who it was as most companys around here that were using them had gone to electric by then,,us mail was the last company here i knew of still using them in thier CH,s

yeah, I found out once, never went back after that. It was why I said "old Boomtown".

Back in the 90's it had a big parking lot for trucks, then it got small then I think it went away altogether.

Since I never owned anything new than a '92 I didn't go west of Reno much.

theres still a few spots left for trucks but not much,,,,now gold ranch started as a truck stop    then they threw us out of there entirely,,,,i used to stop there every night on the street and run in and get a sandwich  until they posted no truck parking in the street in front of it,,,,chicken shit mofos

That was apparently a nice road to drive over with a truck. Wonder how fast could you go there with a semy? 20 or 30km/h? Barely much faster than that camel.

Somewhere in the Eastern part of Turkey I suppose by the look of the environment.

Looks like Dutch folks were transporting used R-models they sold to Iran. If my memory serves right I saw a pic somewhere with a raw of R-models in similar colors with a script of those trucks were sold in The Netherlands and shipped to Iran.

I remember reading that FTF trucks bought and refurbished older and ex military macks and sold a lot of them to the middle east.FTF trucks took over the Mack assembly plant and workforce in Holland when Mack pulled out. They went on to make their own designs with Detroit engines and Alison transmissions.FTF trucks were and still are held in high regard in Europe. They made some very special order trucks too.
