U models were dump trucks too, but they had lighter specs yes.

DM's and U's used the same cab and nose just the front ends and rears and also the frames where different. U600 series used mainley for tractor use on highway. DM's used for heavy duty applications. U's and DM's used the same motors in most cases but different trans. U's mainley had 5spds. DM's used the ever popular 6 spd Lo Hole (twin stick). Hope that helps!
