Why Is It Raining In My Mack

Recommended Posts

Have a older RD model dump mack and noticed every time it rains I get water on the floor under the dash mostly on the passenger side, where is this coming from?

the vent in the front center is closed..

anyone? driving me crazy!

I have seen this kind of thing caused by leaks in the door. I found that the squeegee gasket on one door was letting water in. Check the underside of the door to see if it is also wet . . . .

My 77' was letting water in from the cowl where the top drivers side corner of the hood had rubbed through some body sealant. It was in that little aera where the side and top of the hood meet the cab. There is a gap in the sheet metal and then sealant was used to smooth it out. This gap channeled rain to any spots with bad sealant and water could make it in and drip on the floor mat.I found this by chanc one rainy day. I Also found that rust near the rain gutter will let rain get under the skin and will leak down meet the floor vent

The best way to check it is, get someone to waterhose it down in the area and watch it under the dash. Sometimes we get lucky this way.
