  1. Haha. How many is that now? There are at least six other imitations of the NY thread by my count.
  2. Low class move. Probably saw that it had a bell on it already and had to have it.
  3. You'll have a keep your pants on another day or so, it's "Other Dog" that has the weekly titty pictures.
  4. Apparently likes going through brokers. Global used to sell their stuff but I guess that changed when Dr. Bones died.
  5. When are you sending it to CT to have "bells" welded on?
  6. And you're calling people smart ass? Get out of high school and actually drive a truck before you start pretending to be an expert.
  7. Are "bells" CT lingo for cone axle caps? I have never heard that term used anywhere else.
  8. Stop playing stupid games. Even though they are the cheapest, lightest and ugliest conventional Mack has probably ever produced I didn't say U models are a mistake. If that's your thing, more power to you. What I said was he made a mistake in buying it and the fact that he is even considering the fake axle cap "fix" proves even he knows it deep down. 3 B81s, a DM800, constant talk about a "Rizzo truck" and then this? Come on.
  9. Sounds great. You might want to think about taking the same approach with the DM. Just paint RIZZO on the door and you will have the Rizzo truck you have been looking for.
  10. The only point that will make is that he got bad advice and bought a U model and then compounded the error by welding fake axle caps on like a wannabe. Great plan. While your at it, you should stick some E7-460 emblems on it and scribble 14R24.00 on the tires.
  11. Regardless, what is the point?
  12. So, why would you be welding them? Flat axle caps usually indicate one piece as opposed to cone which usually indicates a two piece design. Is the plan then to place the cone ends over the flat one piece axles?
  13. Nice work. You'd never know the frame was repaired.
  14. What the hell are bell axles? Please don't tell me you are going to weld cone axle caps from 38s or 44s to the flat caps on your truck.
  15. Are you selling now? I thought you were still in buy mode. I guess that U model pushed you over the edge. They have a tendency to do that. Post a fleet shot.
  16. How much do you think Adams will charge?
  17. Very sorry to hear that Ernie. Best wishes to you and your family.
  18. 5k seems like a hell of a deal. If it was for real, I'd be surprised if it is still around.
  19. Would probably cut down on the confusion to call it a Long Island truck because that's what it is.
  20. R model frame looks heavy. Was it a roll off?
  21. Thanks Jim. Were there off road and on road versions? Strange that some would had the exhaust through the hood like an off road truck while others did not. Same thing for the width. Most of the time, the difference in width is in the axles or running 14s instead of 12s. Didn't LJSWXs come with 65s too?
  22. Like the look of the hardnose. Why did they route the exhaust through the hood on that model? How does it compare to a LJSWX in terms of capacity? Doesn't seem much bigger but has an almost offroad look to it.
  23. The guy has a right to his opinion and other members are in no position to call him names or tell him to shut up. As much as I detest seeing posts like "was there any U models?" and seeing members with cutesy sign offs like "Cheers," it's a part of Internet life so, unless and until Barry steps in, just deal with it. I think we all wish Mack still was the company it used to be and anyone who lived through the Volvo Autocar years can certainly understand his motivation. I do agree, though, that his position has been made very clear here and his time would probably be better spent trying to find a buyer for Mack rather than repeat himself. That said, I hope he continues to post about the history of Mack trucks.
