  1. Bob I can set you up with my battery dealer, good service, and quality product. He sometimes has used batteries. I think you have my phone #.
  2. Bob, I see no problem and have done it before with no ill effects. As long as they are both 24X8.0. I hope that there weren't many bad things said about me!
  3. Bob, do you mean on the same spoke,or interchange pieces on the rim?
  4. Air ride would be a nice update, you could get a cutoff with a good ratio probably for what it would cost to get better gears installed in your pumpkin.
  5. Rectifiers were discontinued back in the 70's. I converted many of those to Leece Neville or Motorola integral alternators. I think they are called Load Handler now. You will just need a pos and neg cable. IIRC you will need a new pulley also, the original had tapered shaft.
  6. The only difference is the shift knob, you can take any 13 speed knob, break a small piece off plastic that limits splits and you have an 18 speed.
  7. Another great Barrington show, brought two of my Brockways. The only problem is they pack the trucks so tight it is difficult to get around and take pictures.
  8. Did some more research, Weller has reman available but pricey. about 900 dollars, available thru McDevitt.
  9. Transaxle in Shrewsbury is OK, stay away from Camerota, had some issues with P&S also, wont go back there.
  10. Hi Guys, Anyone interested in meeting at Sundays show at the Bolton Fairgrounds. Maybe we could meet at Bobs (Red Horse) truck at noon for a group picture (if there is a group). Any interest?
  11. Bob We need the wheelbase in other states, Vermont for example. These trucks go all over the New England and New York hauling contaminated materials.
  12. Planning on going, Brockway is all waxed, fuel it up tonite. Hope it don't rain.
  13. Some more New England based carriers, now gone that heavily used Macks; M+M, St Johnsbury , Hemingway, Blue Line, Plymouth Rock, Purity Supreme Supermarkets. I'll think of more later.
  14. Had the same problem, if you are using Mobil, stop. Went round and round with Mobil and finally switched to a Kendall semi synthetic blend,SD XA 15W40. The Fleetguard filters are a problem also, we use Wix now.
  15. Looks good Jack. I am partial to the red frame. Charlie Bromaghim does Cappello's trucks. he does ours (French). He did my 761. I can hook you up if you want, give me a call. Your father has my number.
  16. Thanks for the information Bob, will there be any increase in truck registration or general admission? I had heard that there is quite a large difference between what the Elks charged and what the fairgrounds charge.
  17. Thanks, are you going to Hudson? Maybe we could meet.
  18. The new one is probably insulated. Check for polarity markings on the terminals. One should be positive and the other negative. If it is not marked, then it doesnt matter which is + and -. Make a jumper wire up to ground one terminal, and the other to key switch. Did you check for voltage at the terminal?
  19. How is your blood pressure after spending the day with the toothless wonder?
  20. Does it have a cable shut off or an air shut off. I had a problem with a 6V92 doing the same thing, would start right up, but once it started building air it would pull in the shut off and kill the engine. Once the air bled off it would start right up and run again till it built up about 50 lbs of air. If it does have the air shut off, remove from the shut off arm then try it, or just watch it as it builds air.
  21. Yes, I'm his boss, or at least thats what I'm supposed to be. It's more like the inmates running the nut house here. You have probably seen my 761 Brockway at the shows.
  22. Cat batteries are made by Deka, and are less expensive. Battery tenders are a great idea, I put a battery disconnect switch in also, cheap insurance.
  23. The Iconagraphics book on B models has a great picture of a row of brand new B61's in Mutries yard in Waltham.I dont know if the book is still available, but you can borrow mine to make copies.I think that Mutrie White 900 we talked about is still available.
