Oh yeah that’s cool I found that one years ago myself are used to have a ball riding on those rigs when I was a kid my uncle sold the business in 1970 but it was a lot of fun while it lasted I remember when I was about nine years old my dad asked me if I wanted to sweep out the trailer after they unloaded blueberries I was just about pissing myself …. Oh boy I get to work like the big guys ha ha real great memories … At the time my uncle had the best looking Riggs on the road.. bob

Aaaaaaaaaah hell,, I didn’t even know that I’ve had my DM 27 years but they have been stuck open The entire time Truck had a small front end collision and bent the shutters I have a new set I will be using but I have seen the ram trying to close them and open them before while it was running So I’m pretty sure though shutters stat still works I don’t even know if you can still buy them… bob

  5. There are two parts air activated ram on top of shutters disconnect it for now till you find parts it’s probably faulty shutter Thermostat connected to engine I try to send you photos but I am unable to good luck… bob

  8. you know if someone paid that much for it,,,im sure he or she would be coddling it same as a small dog...and like someone said,im sure its not going to leave here,,,unless its possibly australia not sure of the situation,,but i talked to a guy years ago,,,from there,,,in oakland california....and he said macks are so expensive over there..is was cheaper for him to buy R model here,and have all the drivers stuff switched over to the right side,and shipped over there.than it was to buy his R model there...like wow man...but that was 35 years ago...bob bob

  13. That makes most sense heavy construction use… growing up in the east coast I don’t recall seeing that many DM 600s with steel nose but they did use on in easy money .excellent…. Bob
  14. ive been out here 41 years and ive only seen one hauling cans around LA in the early 80s and 1 at the pomona fair grounds at an antique show around 20 years ago..bob

Haha got this out of a Oakland California fire engine a friend of mind parted out ….it has 111,000 I still think that truck has more miles than what it says my guess is they might of bought it from another owner maybe picked it up pretty right and generally fire equipment has a lot more of their own personality’s who knows truck is still gorgeous… bob

  22. definately like the chicks man,,but getting back to equipment,kind of sad to see very usefull machines just abanded...out here we have millians of dollars of mining equipment sitting in abanded dried up silver and gold mines.....just looks depressing....i guess the price to move these things outweighs just buying new stuff...bob
  23. that thing looks real good,with just a clean up,wow....saved ton of money,messing with that fuel pump yourself...good deal....last price i got was $ 3,500 exchange for a new one,and that was back in 86...bob
  24. thier used to be tons of them out here,,they all vanished with time....they were all box trucks,,,and ive never seen one with that extended cab..bob
